Brutal to the MAXXX! This month's Monthly Spotlight revolves around musical extremity, violent noise, and all things brutally vile when it comes to pushing the boundaries of music. I made many trips out to Chicago and throughout Illinois in preparation for this article, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the brutality and primal rawness I encountered from the bands I saw. This blog article is a special edition! Southside legends Skinblasted gave me early access to their recently released EP, Naked Demos (shoutout to Robi), to listen to and review. I had a blast jamming out to their EP and figuring out which songs were my favorite, and you all should definitely give their stuff a listen.
