daddy, to say my heart is broken is an understatement. there are absolutely no words that can describe how devastated and hurt i am. there was no one i loved more in the world than you. there’s a million things i wish i could say to you one last time, so i’m going to start with thank you’s. thank you for teaching me how to drive. thank you for all the times you bought me starbucks and chipotle because you knew it made me happy. thank you for teaching me how to swim and ride my bike. thank you for sitting at the table with me doing my math homework because you knew how bad i am at math. you were the best teacher i ever had. thank you for all the rides you gave me to practice, coming to my games, and always cheering for me. there’s a million other things i could say thank you for, but i hope you know how thankful i was for you.i’ll never forget elementary school summers when you’d take lily and i to target to get snacks because the neighborhood was coming over to swim. our roadtrips we took. me making you blow out your candle when i got home from school because the smell was too strong. the trips we took. when we went to florida for my volleyball, and you took me to disney. then after volleyball, you let us stay one more day, just us, at the beach because you knew how much i loved the beach. my favorite memory is putting up the christmas tree. we always wanted to put it up mid november but mom would never let us because she said it was “too early.” she would always make us wait until after her birthday. i’ll never forget hanging up the ornaments and putting pooh on top of the tree. i wish you would have got to see me turn 19, graduate from college, and walk me down the aisle. it breaks my heart i’ll never get to hear your voice again and hear you laugh. i know how hard this sickness was for you, but you don’t need to struggle anymore. alcoholism is a cruel, evil thing, and i hate that it took you away from me. the last thing you texted me was that you were tired. you don’t have to be tired anymore. you will forever be in my heart. i promise to make you proud everyday. i love you daddy.-your little girl. 1976-2024❤️🕊️ by @avjohnsen
