🍰🫖AFTERNOON TEA AT THE MILNER ☕️🍭 As part of our Autumn Reset series, we have been visiting local venues to showcase experiences to help us busy parents relax. This week we were invited to try out the afternoon tea at @themilneryork 🥂 I took along my Mum & two daughters for a lovely half term treat. Firstly, a moment for those cakes! The hotel interiors are stunning - afternoon tea is served in The Garden Room - think plush arm chairs, fine china & a view of @yorkminsterofficial The kids loved the Children's Afternoon Tea with a choice of soft drink, milkshake or hot chocolate. Alongside the traditional savoury finger sandwiches, the jam & chocolate spread flavours were a hit too! Prices are £12.95 Children's Afternoon Tea (age 12 and under); £34.95 for adults (£5 extra for prosecco, £10 extra if you want to add a glass of champagne). It was a lovely few hours in our home city, relaxing in a stunning hotel. It is right next to York train station and also has onsite paid parking. The afternoon tea vouchers would make a lovely Christmas gift if you are looking for ideas 🎁 *Ad / PR visit #yorkwomenmeanbusiness #yorkmums #visityork by @avocado_events

AD|PR invite: We were invited to @avocado_events Milkshakes and Pumpkins event at @hickoryssmokehouse today and had a brilliant few hours! 🎃 We chose our pumpkins and got decorating with choice from of hundreds gems, stickers, ribbons and pens. There were also little wooden pumpkin ornaments too which were adorable! 🥤It was a lovely chance to get creative and chat with other mums over a cup of tea or coffee! The kids had chocolate, strawberry or vanilla milkshakes delivered (J's new favourite thing!). 🍿We then collected our popcorn and headed into Hickory's cinema room for a bit of Lilo and Stitch before collecting out goody bags (snack bars, mini ghost chocolates and the cutest little avocado stuffy). 🍔 We also booked lunch at Hickory's (not part of the PR invite). Our table was all set up with more popcorn, kids activity packs, colouring pencil crayons which kept the girls entertained for a good 20 minutes overall! We ordered the single cheeseburger and kids hot dog from the lunch menu which were both delicious. Lunch cost us just over £20. 🛝 Our final stop was the outdoor play area for a quick climb and game of corn dog! It was great for kids 3+ I'd say- D gave it a really good go but I was terrified she'd fall off trying to get up to the top of the slide! 🫣 We had a great few hours- J rated the day 1000 stars! 🌟 #eastyorkshirekid #pumpkin #thingstodowiththekids ##thingstodoinyork #gifted by @avocado_events

🍂The season for slowing down 🍂 Yesterday we enjoyed a lovely cosy visit to the new Sakura Spa at @gisboroughhall . Just over an hour's drive from outer York, it makes the perfect escape not too far away from home. The thermal outdoor vitality pool is in the most gorgeous setting amongst the trees, looking out to an array of autumn colours in the meadows. Such stunning scenes. The three wellness huts around the thermal pool included a Finnish sauna, herbal sauna & salt steam room to keep warm. Each with a snug lounge area overlooking the trees & nature 🌳. I always feel so relaxed in the woods surrounded by trees, listening to the birds. There were blankets & hot water bottles to cosy up with too, making this a perfect spa day whatever the weather. Our package also included a 2 course lunch in Koyo restaurant at the spa - we chose the warm butternut squash salad topped with a salmon fillet, and the steak ciabatta. Such a delicious & autumnal menu. I was tempted by the ramen too. I loved the fact you could see out into the woodland wherever you were sat, thanks to the large glass doors. Finally, I tried out the 30-minute Touch-Free Welnamis Lounger Experience. I drifted off into a dreamy world as soon as the eye mask went on & the headphones gently played mindfulness music - I could hear waves, rain, white noise & relaxing vibes. The spa bed also gently vibrated around pulse points. I usually find it really hard to switch my brain off - this was half an hour of true deep relaxation. Ideal if you are looking for something different to a massage with a therapist. Sakura Spa offers a new way to experience wellbeing, surrounded by the beauty of the woodland. Oh and they have a boozy hot chocolate menu. What more do you need?! Take this as your sign to book a spa day 💕 Thank you for having us Sakura Spa - you are a stunner! *PR visit by @avocado_events
