After 18 years, it’s finally time to hang up the skates. It’s surreal that it’s been that long since I first stepped on the ice. I moved out on my own at 16, living in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Wyoming, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and now finally settling down in Michigan. I wanted to say thank you to every teammate, coach, billet, teammates’ parent and team staff who’s ever taken me in as a random kid from Alaska into their family, but most importantly my parents. My mother and father who supported every decision I’ve ever made, and had enough trust and confidence in me living on my own, and sacrificing anything they could to see me happy. This sport has shaped me into the man I am today. Thank you. And I want it to be known, I was #97 before McDavid. Avo out. -ace by @avoletta
