WHISKEY WEDNESDAY! Featuring: Willett Pot Still, Bardstown, KYThe iconic Willett Pot Still bottle is one of the most uniquely recognizable shapes on any back bar much to the chagrin of bartenders everywhere, due to the excessive real estate it requires, which makes it unwieldy for service. It is shaped exactly like the Willett Distillery’s copper & brass Vendome pot still. This is a small batch bourbon, but that term literally does not mean anything, so we have to dig a little deeper.Willett defines small batch as a 12-barrel blend—by industry standards this is incredibly small—by contrast, Heaven Hill’s Larceny Small Batch is a mingling of 100 barrels at a time, and Four Roses uses around 250 barrels per bottling of theirSmall Batch bourbon. Willett Pot Still’s mash of 65% Corn, 20% Wheat, and 15% Barley goes into the barrel at 115º and gets bottled 94º proof. It doesn’t have an age statement, but the big brother version of it is an 8-year-old wheated bourbon, so we can presume that the whiskey in there is anywhere from 4-7 years old.And tonight! for one night only! you, yes you, dear reader, can come and enjoy a taste for only $4.
