One of the hardest goodbyes. Thank you, basketball, for the memories I’ll never forget, the people who became family, and the places this game allowed me to see. I don’t think I’ll ever fully understand the impact this sport has had on my life, but I’m forever grateful for everything it taught me and how it helped me grow as both a player and a person.

Even though this isn’t how I imagined it ending, I trust that it’s all part of God’s plan.

Thank you to every teammate I had the privilege of playing with and every coach who believed in me and pushed me to be better. And most importantly, thank you to my family for all the sacrifices you made so I could live out my dream. by @avy_ann_

SIK Basketball Player to Watch: Senior Avery Scott is a dominant power forward for Stanton County, averaging 15.3 points, 15.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 3.1 steals, and 4.1 blocks per game last season, giving her career totals of 936 points, 862 rebounds, 106 assists, 190 steals, and 256 blocks. A multi-sport athlete excelling in basketball, volleyball, and track, she’s a three-time Sports in Kansas Player of the Year finalist and led all classes in rebounds and blocks last season. “I am excited for this season because it is my last year to play with my team. We also have more girls out this year and I am excited to be a good role model and show them why I love this sport. Personally, I am close to 1000 career points and 1000 career rebounds and I hope to achieve both of these goals this season. I am recovering from acl/lcl surgery and hope to return in mid January!” she said. #sportsinkansas
