Our interview with @kait_rhoads and @thor_bueno is up on our YouTube channel!

Kait and Thor are amazingly talented, technically skilled, and highly trained glassblowers who have set themselves apart in a crazy industry!

In their early days, they were also part of @bteamglass in the 90s. This group of artists traveled all around California and beyond demonstrating, teaching, entertaining, and inspiring students, teachers, and glass enthusiasts.

It was so incredible to get to sit down with Kait and Thor and talk to them about their roots, their inspirations, and the magic behind the B Team! taken in Corning Museum of Glass by @awaysheagoes

It was such an honor to get to sit down with @kait_rhoads and @thor_bueno after their reunion performance with @bteamglass at @corningmuseum for the 2026 GAS conference.

Kait and Thor are both incredibly talented glassblowers that have set themselves apart in the industry with their mind blowing skills.

They are also two parts of The B Team, which is an incredible group of NINE artists that formed back in the 90s to educate, inspire, and mystify glass students and enthusiasts around California and beyond!

The full interview is up on our YouTube channel, link in bio!

Scroll through to check out some vintage pics, Thor’s work, Kait’s work, and a look into their B Team Performances at GAS 2026. by @awaysheagoes

Even when exploring Garth’s Boulder Gardens in Joshua Tree, CA, glass was all around! From blown paperweights in the garden, to pipes and lamps, even this incredible stained glass window!

My favorite part about the window was the found-nature of it all. The pieces look found, maybe thrifted? Everything was added, the glass being flat wasn’t a factor at all.

There are even a few paperweights and bottles soldered in with the rest of the glass!

Where did you see glass that most surprised you???

@pilchuckglassschool has been a place for glass creatives to escape since 1971.

It was founded by the infamous @chihulystudio along with Ruth Tamura, and Anne + John Hauberg!

Starting out as little more than a creative camping spot, the school has turned into a glass institution and has had some of the biggest name in the industries learn, teach, and work here!

Been working in the studio on my copper foil stained glass series I’ve been working on.

Right now I’m soldering 60% lead and 40% tin at around 6-700°F.

Stay tuned for the finished piece and the whole process!

La Sagrada Família has A LOT of stained glass! How many windows, you may ask? Well, we don’t know! An exact number has never been given!

But while you may be spending a lot of time looking up at the cathedral, don’t forget to look down too! There’s a hidden underground chapel that can be seen through glass windows in the floor!

The Tiffany Girls made some of the most beautiful and complex pieces that were ultimately signed by one man: Tiffany.

In fact the truth of the Tiffany Girls wasn’t even uncovered until 2005!!!!!

And it wasn’t until 2007 that the New York Historical Society did a revolutionary exhibition on the women artisans.

We will do a FULL deep dive on the Tiffany Girls on our YouTube channel soon!

The @hakone_venetian_glass_museum is one of my fav glass museums that I’ve had the pleasure of going to!

Tucked away far from the cities in Hakone, Japan, this museum is definitely worth the detour.

The museum specializes in Venetian glass and has some of my favorite pieces I’ve ever seen, like that gorgeous daisy goblet😍

Featuring artists like the infamous Dale Chihuly, Venetian Scultpor Livio Seguso, historic and prolific Giuseppe Barovier, and many more, this isn’t one to be missed!

Exploring Corning, New York, you’ll find things that you won’t see in your average cemetery!

Some of the most prominent and revolutionary glassmakers lived and died in Corning, where their legacy lives on through their craft.

The first arch you see is in St. Mary’s Cemetery, and it’s a tribute to 18 very young Corning glass workers that tragically died in a train crash while visiting their families.

The second cemetery shown is Hope Cemetery that features graves from notable glass families like the Hawkes Family who shaped the American luxury glass market in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Follow along for more glass history!

The Roman Bottle Competition was one of the most fun events I’ve attended!! It was exciting, funny, and full of glassblowing talent and action!

@glassartsociety has so many fun and exciting events like this throughout the conference and it really shakes things up! Anyone can sign up and take a go!

I’ll never get sick of watching @bteamglass do their thing!!!

Absolutely obsessed with the impulsive fun that follows you through the entire show from start to finish.

The B Team just knows how to scratch that glassy itch just right!
