Typically, no; a suspension lift kit is not necessary JUST to go off pavement.

People's minds have been so brain-rotted by social media that the concept of using an off-road capable vehicle with its intended purpose without a suspension lift is now a foreign and benign idea.

I think drivers have lost touch with the reality that it is primarily the driver that defines the limitations of a vehicle. Yes, there will always be mechanical limitations that will be present, but y'all do NOT NEED a suspension lift and mud terrains for the typical green dot or blue square trail.

I know this isn't necessarily going to be everyone, but I've encountered a sufficient proportion of users driving body-on-frame conventional off-road vehicles omitting obstacles my Subaru vehicles can go through without any mechanical damage (for context, I got skid plates and rock sliders). I am ON STOCK HEIGHT on my unibody vehicles.

To those who have not yet advanced their experience and skills: you don't need those remote reservoir shock absorbers. You don't need those 37" tall mud-terrain tires. You don't need $3500 of camping equipment.

You (the novices and inexperienced) need driver mod, sufficient undercarriage protection (spend money on skid plates and rock sliders, not on IG-clickbait Fox Racing Shox you won't even be able to extract even 10% of its usability unless you're a badass like BJ Baldwin), sufficient vehicle recovery tools, decent supply of food and water, appropriate hot/cold/wet weather gear, and a two-way satellite communicator with GPS in case the worst happens.

If you're taking on a harsh trail and you're a novice, that's probably a mistake and you should work on your driving and experience first.

For those who already have experience and training, please don't egg someone on to waste their money. Make sure those asking for your wisdom and experience are spending smartly on the stuff that really matters. by @awdfreak22

My eyesight has declined enough to the point that my groupings are not good. I am also rusty and haven't practiced in ages.

Getting older is quite the humbling experience. I need to get back to practicing regularly and re-evaluate my need for corrective lenses. by @awdfreak22

Many commuters who commute by personal vehicle already spend many hours of their lives in their commute vehicle, why not make it at least enjoyable?

I bought an additional car, with the intentions to have it built up to my dream car, I had a fun time at Anime Expo chibi (#axchibi #axchibi2022 ), and I got to visit Oceano Dunes SVRA before its planned complete closure to the public in 2024. by @awdfreak22
