Sometimes it’s fun to play a tourist in at home. The Lucas museum is something everyone should check out. And if you know me you know I had to see Harry Potter. Cosm is a super cool experience. #cosm #lucasmuseumofnarrativeart taken in Los Angeles, California by @awkwardamerican

A network show used to mean 22 episodes, and 22 shots at directing. Today that same series gives you about four. The math has collapsed.

Andi Armaganian came up in the Smallville edit bay and turned it into a directing career, so she knows how it actually works now: shooting a feature's worth of story in 14 days, cutting an episode to the exact frame, and dropping into a crew that has run like a machine for years and earning your place fast.

Her advice for anyone trying to break in is the most quotable line in the episode: don't mess up the coffee. Do the job you have well, and it's how you get the job you want.

Swipe for 7 secrets of directing TV.

☕ DON’T F*CK UP THE COFFEE.

Sounds harsh. It’s actually the kindest career advice you’ll get all year.

Because the coffee run isn’t about the coffee. It’s about whether someone can trust you with the next thing. And the thing after that. That’s the whole job.

Director Andi Armaganian has directed 30+ episodes — Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Supergirl, Stargirl — and cut 100+ before that. She’s watched a lot of people get hired. She’s watched a lot of people not get hired again. She knows exactly what separates the two.

Congratulations to cinematographer Ian Anderson @eye_anderson on his CSC Award nomination for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds episode 305 “Through the Lens of Time” — an episode I had the honor of directing.🖖

We shot on the volume stage with a technically complex story — then packed up and headed to a quarry in freezing winter conditions. Ian brought a stunning visual sensibility to both environments, and made the whole beautiful.

He’s nominated for a CSC Award - it is so well deserved. Congratulations. Whoo hooo 🙌🖖

Every year we try to take a trip for our anniversary. Twenty-two years in and the bar somehow keeps getting higher. This year: the south of France. Hilltop villages, lavender, ancient light, rosé, and pastries galore 🤪 — we stayed in St. Rémy-de-Provence and Saint-Paul-de-Vence and visited incredible hilltop villages nearby. The best adventure. 🇫🇷📷🥂

I am very excited to have my first app on the App Store. FREE

Meet Fluffball — a soft, soothing little friend that lives on your phone. Stroke the fur. Listen for the purr. Feel it vibrate gently in your hand.

Sometime around 2009, I noticed something: everyone was bringing their phones with them everywhere they went. To the bathroom. To dinner. To bed. Like a pet.

So I thought — what if our phones actually WERE pets? 🐾

The idea was born then. But the tech wasn't ready. Until now. :) Link in Bio. :)

Huge thanks to @christianaubert911 🧡 and all the beta testers who helped bring this little creature to life.
