About last week @thebhfilmfest ‘Hello Beautiful’ premiere. Winner of the Golden Palm Award for Best Picture! Such an incredible, profound film to have been a part of. This time last month, I pitched Dark Circles @darkcircles.theshow to @paaia in Phoenix, Arizona. . Being surrounded by such insanely impressive, world-changing individuals from so many different fields was special in and of itself. But being surrounded by those who share your Iranian-Americanness too??? It hits different!!!! ((I wanted to gher* the entire time. But i held back cuz i’m profesh.))) The best part was seeing how they understood and connected with our vision for the show. Our “why”: that our stories deserve to be told. Walking away from that weekend with so much support was an insanely beautiful and overwhelming reminder of why we’re doing this and why our show matters. We can’t wait to share Dark Circles with you all. As always, if you want to be a part of our journey, or have the means to donate (tax deductible!) check out our link in the page’s bio! @darkcircles.theshow * gher (verb): to strut an ornate dance move that makes your aunties ululate. #lililililii by @awni.joon
Helllooooo everyone!! 💖 We’ve been in the weeds of bringing @darkcircles.theshow to life lately, and our trailer is dropping SO soon. It’s been ahh‌ so surreal watching this baby of an idea come to life with my incredible team. Thank you to everyone who’s been a part of the journey so far. Truly. Dark Circles is a love letter to the people pleasers who’re on the brink of entering their “WHO THE EF AM I?” cocoon phase of life. Making this has been so cathartic. I’m hoping that as the story continues to unfold, you’ll see parts of yourself in it, too. 🌀💗 Let’s gooo independent art makers!!!! 😤😘✨ 📸 the bestest @jorgmeyerphoto by @awni.joon
