May is National Foster Care Awareness month 💙

Did you know?
• More than 20,00 youth age out of the foster care system every year without permanent families.
• Children in foster care are more likely to experience interruptions in their education, with many changing schools multiple times.
• 1 in 5 foster youth will experience homelessness within a year of aging out.

Alpha Xi Delta is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of youth experiencing foster care or homelessness, ensuring they have the support they deserve. 💙 taken in Alpha Xi Delta of Old Dominion University by @axid_odu

WHY ALPHA XI WEDNESDAY WITH OUR NEW MEMBER ALISSA!! ✨
This is what she has to say about her new member experience so far… “I came into recruitment not knowing much about any of the sororities. On philanthropy day, I learned that Axid’s philanthropy supports children in foster care and people experiencing homelessness. I knew this was the place for me because I have a personal connection to our philanthropy!! In the short time I’ve been part of Axid, I’ve met so many girls with different backgrounds and futures ahead of them, but that doesn’t matter. I see the way they love each other and that has nothing to do with where they came from. The bonds I’ve witnessed are something truly special that I hope to make with all of my sisters. Axid is a place where you can be yourself and be valued not only as a sister but as a human being. A place where people will listen and want to help you become the best version of yourself!! I love my axid!!! ” by @axid_odu
