Throw looked so nice I decided I don't mind posting it twice, plus it's so much sweeter when it's put to music. Job still isn't done, but I got some big news coming on Saturday and then we're on to Nationals. (Also new J. Cole and Keem albums in the same week I PR'd?? We're so back) by @axton.throws

Third PR in three meets, this time I added another 2 meters for 57.51 (188'8). Also had two other PR's, the second two videos, after this throw at 56.69 and 56.60 (186'0 and 185'8). This moves me up on the national rankings again, and I am now tied for #34 overall and I am the #12 Junior in the country. I still have several meets before Nike Outdoor Nationals and I'm really pushing for 60 meters before I go. Craziest part is that even after adding 23 feet to my PR in a month, I still think I can push harder. We'll see what's coming. by @axton.throws

After some thought and discussions with my family, I have decided to decommit from MSSU and reopen my recruiting. This was definitely not an easy decision, but following the recent coaching change I believe it will be best choice for me and my future. I am grateful for the opportunity that MSSU extended to me, and I am thankful to my family and support system for helping me through this difficult time. I am excited for what opportunities may present themselves soon. If you have any interest please reach out, I will put my numbers and academics under this post, and I can be reached at ors.axton@gmail.com or (918)-378-4994.

Made some technical changes after being sick for a week and got some promising results. High 54 Saturday and 55.65 to tie my SB Sunday (first video). Two more 55m throws to back it up, hoping for a big one soon. by @axton.throws

55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55 55

Jokes aside I'm happy with 3 more throws over 55 and another pretty consistent series, especially since I haven't been able to practice or lift since Tuesday because of graduation and several other events. Due to that I felt a little slow and my rhythm was definitely off. Also every warmup went at least 30 feet out of the left sector so I think 6 marks is a solid recovery after that alone. First time trying out some new cues and I'm seeing a lot of good in these throws.. I think something big is on the horizon.. by @axton.throws

My time as a thrower at Union High School has officially come to an end. I got 5th at my last ever regionals in disk, also hitting a small PR after a big comeback season which was immensely satisfying. If it weren't for Union, I absolutely would not be where I'm at today, and I have come so far from where I started 5 seasons ago. I was never much of a shot or disk thrower, but this is where I started out and it's what initially sparked my love for this sport. The biggest thanks has to go to @sdrigel for everything he does (which is truly way more than anyone could ever know) and for putting up with me through these last four years. He is one of the nicest and most supportive people I've ever met, and he truly pours his heart into every single one of his athletes and does his best to help them improve even when they don't give it back. I never truly gave him my 100% and honestly that's my one regret as this time comes to an end. Though I really couldn't have ever gave everything to my school practices with sleep apnea, club practices, and breaking my arm, there will always be a part of me that wishes I could have gave the time and care back that he gave me. Genuinely the best coach out there. To @u_throws, I have made so many friendships with teammates and opponents alike, and while this was always my secondary team, the friends and family I've gained along the way are unparalleled. I've learned a lot from this program and I'm sad to be leaving parts of it behind, though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least a little happy to never have to throw a shot or a disk again. Onto hammer... by @axton.throws

The most annoyingly consistent day of my life. I have NEVER marked all 6 throws and had only a three foot difference between my best and worst. I was really hoping for something big today so I'm a little disappointed, but I still managed to average a SB. My best of the day was 55.65 (182'7) (the first video), I had a really good technical throw at 54.95 (180'3) that just didn't have a lot of pop (second video), and then I backed up my SB with a 55.60 (182'5). The consistency definitely shows I'm close to something big, especially with a really awkward training week. Next meet is May 17th so we'll see what's coming then... by @axton.throws

Our mediums may be different... but flight remains our common objective

I absolutely love my brother and I'm so glad I was able to spend some time with him this weekend. I was so incredibly impressed by him and his team that competed at Speedfest. He put so many hours into this project and as a little brother I couldn't be more proud. He's always been both a massive inspiration and supporter for me, and there's nobody else I would rather look up to. I'm honored that we'll get to graduate just four days apart from each other in just two (hopefully short) weeks.

Go support @speedfestblack, watch their stuff, and get their merch from the link in their bio. (Like seriously go check them out. I have one of their shirts on in the first video, the clothing is so comfortable and has a lot of awesome designs. There's also other cool things besides clothing.) by @axton.throws

Decently pretty 55.00m for my opener (on the last throw of the most embarrassing series of my life). Really struggled to hit any decent positions until this throw but I am really happy with how this throw looks. I also definitely had much more gas to put on this throw, but I really just needed to come away from this comp with a decent mark for my own sanity. Definitely can improve on this next week. by @axton.throws

Exceptionally late nattys post, and honestly I contemplated not making one altogether, but whether I like it or not these meets are part of my journey. There were so many travel issues on this trip, I had three flights completely cancelled and had to change flights probably six different times. I wasn't able to pre-meet and was only given two warmup throws at New Balance after not practicing for several days due to travel issues. I ended up throwing 19.33 at New Balance, and then fouling a 20m throw on my last attempt after releasing early. At Nike I warmed up with a throw that was well over 20m, and had an even better throw on my second throw but again released early. I really got in my head after that and messed up my third throw as well. It really hurts knowing I won't ever get to throw over 20m in high school, especially when I know I was fully capable of it. After last season, my goals for this year were to break the state records for hammer and weight. After I broke my arm these became less solidified and I was more worried about getting back to training at all, but once I was able to start throwing again in December I decided I wanted to try and push for those goals anyway. I opened this year at 61 feet and hoped that I would start making big jumps as I got healthier, but unfortunately I have remained relatively weak in my right side, especially when it comes to trying to push a weight or hammer. I'm happy with the technical improvements that I've made during this indoor season and I'm hoping that it'll translate well into outdoor as I'm still going for that state record, even if there's a solid chance I won't get there. I wish I could've had some of those big throws back, and the pain I felt after these meets isn't one that'll go away any time soon. Hopefully I won't be feeling like this at the end of outdoor. Back to work. by @axton.throws

FINALLY!!!! 19.64 (64'5) After my result at Washburn yesterday I really wanted to try and squeeze in another comp before nationals because I knew I had something big coming. Northwest Missouri State was only 2 hours away from Topeka so we decided to do it. I'm really proud of this throw, not even 6 months out from shattering my arm. Not to mention we finished this whole comp in 15 minutes. Still got a 19.31 (63'4) to back it up as well, about half a foot over my previous SB and only 2 inches off my old PR. I think I just have a thing for 2/22 because this is also exactly a year apart from my PR last year. These throws still weren't my best technically so I know I have more coming. Just 3 weeks until nationals, the goal is 20m+, happy with today but not satisfied yet. by @axton.throws

Ugly but far SB at Washburn yesterday. 19.13 (62'9) isn't bad for a 4 throw comp, it does kinda suck that I didn't get to go 4/4 on yearly PR's here, but that's the way it goes sometimes. I had a lot better technical throws earlier this week and even slightly better throws during this comp, If I can get ahold of one it'll go. More coming... by @axton.throws
