not my will Lord, but yours -

If you can do it all in your own strength, then it’s probably not what God called you to do. What He calls you to will always require full surrender and total dependence on Him.

When I first got to Howard, although it was a leap of faith, I came with many fears. I used to say my biggest one was losing a loved one, and that very fear came to life the summer after sophomore year when my brother passed. It was in that season that I came to know God as my true strength.

If I could tell that version of Ayana anything, it would be that everything is going to work out for your good, and there’s more than enough in you to get through any season.

In the heart’s quiet space, where love does reside,
A journey begins, where souls dare to confide.
From the sacred words of John, divine and true,
Flows a river of love, born of God’s own view.

Dear friends, let us heed this heavenly call,
For love, the essence, the greatest of all.
In the rhythm of steps, a dance unfolds,
Guided by love, as the ancient story’s told.

Step one, Love, pure and ever so bright,
God’s gift to us, in the darkest of night.
In His love, we’re cradled, forever held tight,
A beacon of hope, in love’s endless flight.

Step two, God’s Love, a flame burning bright,
In quiet devotion, in the still of the night.
