Hey look ma, I made it 🥹🥹🥹

Still can’t believe people are finding the night before eid inside @target stores all around the country 😍
Hamdulilah 🤲🏻

IT’S FINALLY OUT! The Night Before Eid is an intergenerational story filled with love, history, hope, tradition & so much joy! I wrote this in March 2020 when I longed for hugs from my loved ones & friends. It feels like the hugs we all missed at the time.
🎨 rashin.kheiriyeh

Growing up I never saw eid or Ramadan books at libraries or school or book stores or TARGET (!!!!!) so this is something I’ve been dreaming about for decades 🥹 I hope Muslim kids will feel seen and proud of who they are because representation matters.
Alhamdulilah ya rab.

There’s a lot of people to thank and many critique partners but I don’t want to miss anyone, so THANK YOU if you gave me feedback on this, from when it was originally a unicorn eid story or the story it is today. Thank you!!!

thank you to the whole team at littlebrownyoungreaders / christyottavianobooks . School & library team, marketing, publicity, designers, copy editors, fabulous editor Jessica Anderson, and of course the amazing Brent Taylor triadausliteraryagency ! Thank you to genius illustrator rashin.kheiriyeh

Thank you to every person who shared, reviewed, supported, preordered & my kidlitincolor sisters highlightsfound fellows, our bird group: reemfaruqi saadiafaruqi malsidink and Arab author besties rhondaroumani salamzahr_ . words cannot express my gratitude for your support.
Alhamdulilah 🤲🏻
Out wherever books are sold & as always check your local independent bookstores!

Remembering all the rejections my manuscript got two years ago and then being on Amazon’s #1 new release & seeing it sold out two days from many places after release date (thank you all so much!). Keep telling your stories even if nobody likes it at first. Welcome to my TEDTalk. #authorsofcolor #ownvoices #weneeddiversebooks #immigrantsmakeamericagreat #thearabicquilt by @ayakhalilauthor
