TSU was my first choice. I was recruited by other institutions (even Ivy Leagues) but wanted to be surrounded by culture and those committed to service. Think.Work. Serve.I saw those words etched in stone growing up on TSU's Campus. My great great aunt, who was like my grandmother, met her husband there and our family attended all the Classics and Homecomings with them. My mom was a non traditional student there and went on to become the Director of Payroll. I was certain TSU was where I wanted to spend my formative years. Think.Work.Serve. When finally a student, saw those words every day on my way to class. Where I continued friendships from elementary school and even formed new ones with incoming students from across the globe. Friendships that would last a lifetime. An institution where I was fed academically, challenged to think outside of the box, and was able to also give back to the community that raised me through service. Loved the school so much, recieved two degrees. Was recruited before graduating to work for my current Fortune 500 company. I love my career in Food Science and am grateful for all TSU contributed to my life. It will forever be in my heart. Which is why, even if it is just for a day or two, I will always return for Homecoming. Forever true. Forever TSU. taken in Tennessee State University by @aye__bee
