Welcome to the world Charlotte Joleen Kamper. ❤️ 07/20/25 11:26pm ⏰ 8 pounds 5.3oz 19.88 inches. We have a long road ahead still but she is a fighter. We will post full update soon. Update: charlotte joleen kamper ❤️ she was born at 11:26 pm on 07/20/2025 . 8 lbs 5 oz and 19.88 inches long . already so, so loved . ❤️

update for everyone who's been keeping up:
- we were originally supposed to have a scheduled c-section on 7/23/2025 (this coming wednesday).
- at around 9:30 pm on sunday night (7/20/2025), my water broke unexpectedly while we were at home.
- we rushed to the hospital, where everything got very chaotic. there was brief talk of doing a natural birth, but charlotte's heart rate kept dropping with every contraction, so it wasn't safe to continue laboring. we were in an OR by 11:00 to have an emergency c-section.
- charlotte was immediately taken into the side room by the NICU team to be intubated, but her O2 numbers weren't where they needed to be for her. we got to see her for a minute (didn't get to hold her 😢) before they took her up to be put on a ventilator. we got to see charlotte about an hour later for maybe 5-10 minutes before the children's NICU team came to transport her.
- since arriving at children's in omaha, charlotte has been sedated. she is on 3 blood pressure medications and has maxed out the ventilator settings, oxygen, and another breathing aid.
- i just spoke with the team at children's (at 6:15 pm on 7/21/2025) and charlotte is currently being placed on ECMO - which is essentially a heart lung bypass. she will be on this to give her body a rest and hope that she will adjust quickly and stabilize. they are estimating her surgery for the CDH will occur while on ECMO on wednesday or thursday of this week (7/23/2025 or 7/24/2025) as long as there are no complications for her.

Hello, my name is Adam and my wife Emily is currently pregnant with our second daughter. We recently found out that our daughter was diagnosed with a severe Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). We will be needing assistance with medical bills, travel, and stay in Texas where treatment and surgery will take place. We may be needing to fully relocate for surgeries, birth, and an extended NICU stay. We won’t be able to work while out of state, so we’re needing any help possible.
