A couple of custom action figures I've been working on in my spare time here and there. The Shadow and the Simon Garth Zombie from the old Marvel black and white magazines (often with incredible Earl Norem painted covers and Alfredo Alcala artwork!). I'm having the same problem with both projects. Getting the heads attached to necks or neck holes that they weren't manufactured for. by @ayelid

I'm so done with August 2026. It's not just hearing about celebrated entertainers passing... it's been a tough month for some of the most important people in my own life and I've struggled a lot financially and with my own mental health. There have been good days yes but in general, no. Tear August 2026 off the fucking calendar and wait for September to start. by @ayelid

Another entertainment icon has passed. It's hard for me to not always associate Tim Curry with Dr. Frank N Further and Pennywise, but I gather that he was uncomfortable with people identifying him too closely to his roles. I get that... some people will think you're about everything that they assume you would or should be based on a character you played. I did read an excerpt from his biography included in the article that I screenshoted (am I making up words now? I'm not sure) where he alludes to all of the different kinds of people that he hopes find comfort or inspiration in his work, and it's easy to believe that he had a sweet and gentle side. I also liked him as Wadsworth in Clue. He also has ties to the Star Wars universe... which can be easy to forget sometimes since it wasn't one of the big iconic roles and I can't remember things the way I used to. by @ayelid

Dolly was like Ozzy in the sense that they seemed to have an immortal facade, especially probably for people of a certain generation like me who can't remember a time that there wasn't an Ozzy or a Dolly Parton. Even if you noticed them aging in the public eye.You know that these people are just as human as you are, but they're so larger than life. Possibly the most accomplished female entertainer to ever come from the music business, and she certainly gets my vote considering her songwriting, singing, performing, charity work and business accumen. There will never be another like her. by @ayelid

Finally found one in a local store. Well, kind of... the only town that was showing them as in stock before Target changed it to not show stock anywhere happens to be where my sister lives. She was nice enough to check while she was there shopping and fortunately for me there was the three from the case on the shelf. I'm guessing the other two are gone now.

The parts from the SS86 Coronation figure work pretty well with MTMTE Screamer. Well, the shoulder pads fit if you break off the inner peg and pop out the pink connectors. I'm not sure if I want to break out the Dremel and bore out the crown yet or just position it with some sticky tac. The cape is from the R.E.D. figure. #transformers #customactionfigures #figurefinds by @ayelid

This is more for local family and collector friends who might be interested, but for all my other friends around the world who couldn't go even if they wanted to, hey I'm having a yard sale tomorrow 😄. by @ayelid

When I was a kid, the human fridge was a football player. But, since the world is a thousand degrees now I guess we'll all be rolling around in our own personal morgue drawers soon. by @ayelid

Sucks to hear of Jennifer Finch's passing. Her art and music was about more than L7, but that's the band most of us who know who she is know her from. L7 was one of my favorite bands when I was a kid/teen in the 90s. There really wasn't anyone doing it exactly like they were. Kinda a little bit scary to me back then, like an all girl version of the Ramones or Motorhead lol. But they could do really unique songs like Stuck Here Again, too. I think she was the chief songwriter in addition to adding a lot to their powerful sound as the bassist. by @ayelid

Cool find this past weekend. 1998 Heroes Convention booklet with tons of signatures, and, I could be wrong about this but also some artwork that never appeared anywhere else. Particularly cool to me is the back cover with the Joe Jusko image from the original Marvel Masterpieces trading cards. #comicfinds #comics #memorialday by @ayelid
