Join us on November 5th at 12pm ET for a live recording of Four Questions, Ayin’s new podcast with Báyò Akómoláfé (@bayoakomolafe) and adrienne maree brown (@adriennemareebrown), facilitated by Rabbi Nate DeGroot.

Grounded in Jewish wisdom, yet reaching far beyond it, Four Questions brings together diverse thinkers for wide-ranging conversations that explore the act of questioning as a spiritual, artistic, and universal practice.

Register: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/live-recording-of-four-questions-bayo-akomolafe-adrienne-maree-brown-tickets-2002562967744

A posthumanist polymath and “trans-public” intellectual, Báyò Akómoláfé has produced a vast body of work that presents a startling picture of the world in perpetual process and radical relation. Through an ever-growing archive of books, articles, interviews, social media posts, workshops, and rituals, Akómoláfé seeks to interrogate the fundamental assumptions and epistemological gaps in our current culture in crisis.

adrienne maree brown (she/they) is growing a garden of healing ideas. Informed by decades of movement facilitation, somatics, science fiction scholarship and doula work, adrienne has nurtured Emergent Strategy, Pleasure Activism, Radical Imagination and Loving Correction as ideas and practices for transformation. adrienne is the NYT-bestselling author/editor of several published texts, a ritual singer-songwriter, co-generator of the Lineages of Change Tarot Deck, and co-creator/host of the How to Survive the End of the World podcast with Autumn Brown. adrienne’s latest book, Loving Corrections, is now available from AK Press.

This event is cosponsored by The Shalom Center, The Emergence Network and For The Wild.

Forthcoming from Ayin in 2026: Speak to the Bones: A Book of Jewish Spells and Incantations, a thrilling collection inspired by the ancient Jewish practice of manifestation through speech—with an accompanying essay by Rabbi Jill Hammer.

Speak to the Bones invites readers of all religious and spiritual backgrounds into the ever-evolving world of Jewish mysticism. Rabbis Jericho Vincent (@thealef) and Zvika Krieger (@zkrieger) have curated a diverse collection of over forty spells from secret mystical tomes, tattered journals, medieval heirloom amulets, and shards of buried incantation bowls, as well as from traditional verses and liturgy that have been radically yet faithfully re-translated to be relevant to our contemporary world. In today’s age of digital distraction and always-on culture, these spells and accompanying commentaries—which address topics like love, insomnia, anxiety, and courage—can help modern seekers channel ancient wisdom to bring grounding, intentionality, and mindfulness into their everyday lives. Full book description to come.

The latest @nureadsjbc selection has arrived—and it’s been on an incredible two-decade journey across languages and countries.

Ron Segal’s “Delicate” tells the story of a Holocaust survivor who returns to Germany at the end of his life to chronicle his story as his memory fails. The novel was written in Hebrew and published in Israel in 2010. It was later translated into German and found success in Germany, where the Israeli-born Segal now lives.

For the next chapter in its journey, the novel is finally being published in English by @ayinpress. And Nu Reads subscribers are getting an exclusive early copy ahead of its official English-language release in 2027.

GOLDA Girls host @sbutnick talked to Ron from Berlin for a special podcast episode before his U.S. book tour.

For those who don’t know, Nu Reads is the @jewishbookcouncil’s Jewish book subscription series. And if you want to read “Delicate” now, use code NUGOLDA at checkout for 15% off your subscription.

Our full conversation with Ron is available now 🎙️ Listen and subscribe to GOLDA Girls on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts 🎧 As always, subscribe to the GOLDA newsletter and follow us here at @goldaguide for more Jewish culture, stories, and inspiration ✨ taken in Berlin, Germany by @ayinpress

Happy publication day to The Garlic Eaters by illustrator/writer Madison Safer (@madison.safer)! We are proud to publish this whimsical and warmhearted picture book about displacement, belonging, and the magic of a shared meal. Rooted in Jewish experiences of diaspora, The Garlic Eaters is a story for young readers about home, loss, and what it means to belong.

Congratulations, Madison Safer!

The Garlic Eaters is a new title from Somewhere, a publishing imprint dedicated to children’s books, art books, comics, zines, and other graphic and illustrated works.

Order the book now: https://shop.ayinpress.org/products/the-garlic-eaters

Reboot Studios (@rebootjewish) is a Presenting Partner on The Garlic Eaters, supporting its development, release, and educational impact.

About The Garlic Eaters:

A whimsical and warmhearted picture book about displacement, belonging, and the magic of a shared meal.

Deep underground, a tight-knit family lives inside a great garlic bulb—sleeping on garlic cloves, bathing in garlic juice, and wearing garlic peels for clothes. But after a very hungry mole tears through their roof, the Garlic Eaters are forced aboveground into a world that isn’t sure what to make of them.

Rooted in Jewish experiences of diaspora, The Garlic Eaters is a story for young readers about home, loss, and what it means to belong. Throughout history, garlic has followed Jewish communities—tucked into pockets, hung on doors, and shared with neighbors. Writer and artist Madison Safer weaves that history into a tale of Yiddish imagination and tenderness, introducing young readers to the universal experience of starting over somewhere new—and finding, against all odds, a community to call your own.

The Garlic Eaters includes an author’s note on the Jewish diaspora, a glossary of Yiddish terms, and a recipe for the Garlic Eaters’ favorite soup to enjoy with the whole family.

Book Details:
66 pages | $22.95 | Hardcover | 8.25 x 10.75 in | ISBN: 978-1-961814-36-3 | e-ISBN: 978-1-961814-37-0
