Another alternative for your squat pattern in a gym.
Machines are a great tool for building strength being that the provide a lot of external stability, which allows my mum to focus on output rather than balance.
This way she can get stronger, safely, feel confident in the space on her own, knowing what she is doing and it will return positively when we go back to standing 👏🏼🙌🏼

Fate is for fools. Not because life is completely within our control. It isn’t.

Chance exists.
Loss happens.
People leave.
Doors close.
Things happen to us that we never chose and could never have predicted.

But fate?

Fate is what we call the repetition we refuse to examine.

The same relationships.
The same mistakes.
The same fears.
The same self-sabotage.
The same ending wearing a different face.

Carl Jung wrote:

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

That idea has stayed with me.

Because perhaps the cruelest thing about an unconscious pattern is that it doesn’t feel like a choice.

It feels inevitable.

You tell yourself, this always happens to me.

You believe you were unlucky.

You call it timing.
You call it personality.
You call it circumstance.
You call it fate.

Anything except what it might actually be:

A pattern.

Something learned.
Something protected.
Something feared.
Something repeated so many times that it eventually began to feel like destiny.

And that is why awareness matters.

Because once you can see the pattern, you are no longer completely imprisoned by it.

You can interrupt it.

Question it.

Choose differently.

That doesn’t mean you control everything that happens to you.

It means you stop surrendering responsibility for everything that happens through you.

Maybe there is no predetermined path.

Maybe there are simply choices, consequences, circumstances and patterns. Some visible, some buried so deeply inside us that we mistake them for forces outside ourselves.

So no.

I don’t believe much in fate.

I believe in becoming conscious.

I believe in responsibility.

I believe in changing what you once thought was simply who you are.

And I believe that sometimes the moment you stop calling something fate…

is the moment you finally become capable of changing it. by @aymonismail
