“Patience is virtue.”

Shout out to baby me for seeing it through🥲💛 by @ayos_dynasty

On May 13th, 2023 I graduated with my Masters in Public Health with a focus on Maternal and Childhood Health. I entered my program knowing the people who I have wanted to help. From the experience and expertise that I’ve gained, I’m happy I stuck to it. It took love, support, patience, prayer, and grit. It took a lot of time in solitude and sacrifice. And I am grateful for it all.

I am now the 3rd woman in my family with a Masters. A first gen American with some hurdles that tried hard to discourage me from undergrad to the very last submission for my graduate program. And still, my testimony is different.

Thank you Georgia Southern for the last six years. My time with you has been fruitful and eventful. I’m gone frfr now.

Thank you MobilizeGreen for my EJCE fellowship experience. Thank you to the Association of American Medical Colleges for affording me the opportunity to be a Health Equity Research Intern. With nearly 1000 hours of practical experience, completion of a Community Needs Assessment, several MCH policy and outcomes research projects, and a publication, I’m a step closer to helping mamas and their babies💕

Thank you to my mentors, family and friends. You all saw my heart, comforted me, and uplifted me. Through a visit, call, or comment, you all were always there.

And to God be all the glory. All the honor. All the adoration. All the praise. There were definitely tears at night, but Your joy always came in the morning.
