Two ranges, new and improved formulas, coming to @raven.witchs.market tomorrow, October 11th!

I’ve been busy behind the scenes refining recipes, working with botanicals and putting a whole lot of thought and intention into what goes into every product.

Everything I make at Amongst Sisters comes from my own working practice as a folk witch. Every formula is developed by me, every botanical is chosen for a reason, and every product is made by my own hands.

No mass-produced products, no wholesale-bought creations with a new label slapped on them. The bottles, jars and packaging might come from suppliers, but what goes inside them is entirely my own work.

Real witchcraft supplies, made by a practising witch, using real ingredients, traditional knowledge and a lifetime of working with the craft.

So much of what we learn about witchcraft comes from places with completely different seasons, plants, landscapes and histories.

Objects are never only objects.

Within The Witch’s Materia, each object begins with what it actually is, what it does, how it behaves and the role it has held in ordinary human life.

Hearth ash is what remains after the fire. It carries the remnants of heat, burning, transformation and the hearth itself.

A button fastens. It joins two sides together, holds something closed and can be undone again.

A key opens and locks. It grants access, restricts it, protects what is behind the lock and places that decision in the hands of whoever holds it.

On their own, each has its own properties and possibilities. But within the Materia system, they can also be drawn together and read in relationship with one another.

If Hearth Ash, Button and Key appeared together in a reading, one interpretation could be:

“Something has ended or changed. Gather what is worth keeping. Then decide what you will open to, and what you will keep closed.”

This is the heart of The Witch’s Materia. Not memorising a list of magical correspondences, but learning how to understand the things themselves and from there, learning how to read what they are saying when they appear together as a form of folk divination.
