Sparrow (麻雀)

A pointe ensemble I choreographed for this year’s @wacsmash !! This piece is inspired by the game, mahjong, as a mechanism to maintain community and a sense of cultural identity. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share this aspect of Chinese culture while weaving in my family’s story of immigration and diaspora 🀄️🦜🩰

Hugs and kisses to my incredibly talented and dedicated cast—It was an honor to work with you all, and I love the community we created 🫶
