From Georgia State University to the University of Pennsylvania! 🎓

This summer, Economics and Mathematics student Animesh Shrestha joined the University of Pennsylvania as a Summer Undergraduate Mentored Research (SUMR) Scholar through the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and the Wharton School.

Working with researchers at Penn Medicine and Wharton, Animesh explored health economics and health policy, including international differences in healthcare prices, utilization, and health outcomes.

His experience at the Andrew Young School helped prepare him for the opportunity, giving him hands-on experience with data analysis, econometrics, and the research process.

Now, Animesh hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in Economics and continue exploring applied economic research and public policy.

We’re proud to see students take their research from Georgia State University into new academic and professional opportunities. 💙
