We’re often asked, “When will you screen again in Phoenix?!?” We’re grateful to share The Only Way Out Is Through will play in the Best of Phoenix Film Festival screening series on Monday, October 26 at 7:00pm at Harkins Scottsdale 101. Our time at @phoenixfilmfestival was meaningful. We were able to share the film with over 400 people, won Best Ensemble, and our director @kieranthompson was named Arizona Filmmaker of the Year. We’re planning something extra special for this one. Instead of a traditional Q&A, we’re going to do an extended post-film discussion with our director Kieran Thompson and therapist Colter Bloxom, LPC, of @thrivetherapyphx. We’ve always hoped this film would start conversations about male friendship and mental health, and we’re curious to see where Colter takes this one. We sold out all three of our Phoenix Film Festival screenings, and we expect demand to be high for this one too. Get your tickets now at onlywayoutmovie.com/phoenix (link in bio) taken in Harkins Theatres Scottsdale 101 14 by @az_apa

APA Member Spotlight: Kelsey Hale, Scottsdale, AZ - www.kelseyhale.com - @Kelsey_Hale * Primary production role/s: Photographer * What is your professional background (major job positions you've held and where)? I'm a fashion, beauty, and editorial photographer who has worked with brands including Sephora, Dior, Vuori, Claire's, and Aritzia. My work has taken me across major creative markets including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. * How and why did you start working in production? I was drawn to the storytelling aspect of fashion and editorial photography early on. I began by studying photography in Vancouver, Canada, then moved into an in-house retouching role at Aritzia. From there, I expanded into digital teching, studio management, and retouching for photographer Charlotte Wales, working across New York, London, Paris, and internationally. That experience gave me a strong foundation in production from multiple angles. I later relocated to Los Angeles to pursue photography full-time, and eventually settled in Scottsdale, where I now run my own business. * What are some of your favorite projects you've worked on? Photographing the Oscars for The New York Times was an incredible experience, being part of something at that scale is unforgettable. That said, some of my most meaningful projects are the more intimate ones: working with a tight-knit creative team that shares a clear vision and is fully invested in making something exceptional. * Why should people film in Arizona? Arizona offers an incredible range of landscapes, from desert to mountain, paired with consistently beautiful light. It's also home to a growing creative community, making it an inspiring and highly versatile place to shoot. APA MEMBERS! APA Member Spotlight: Krista Cooper-Schmidt, Prescott, AZ

* Primary production role/s:  Actor, Screenwriter * What is your professional background (major job positions you’ve held and where)? Actor, known for “Moon Valley Quest,” “Eyes Within the Shadows” (PoC), and “Where She Stayed” (Short). * How and why did you start working in production? I started acting classes in 2022, after a lifetime longing to do so. My first experience on a film set was as background for a feature shortly after that, and it was love at first sight. Subsequently, I moved on to supporting and lead roles in both features and shorts across Arizona. I am now signed with Dani’s Agency and have plans in the coming year to star in and direct my own short screenplay, which will be submitted to festivals. While I know I’ve just scratched the surface of this industry, I can’t wait to learn, grow, collaborate, and experience all that film has to offer here in Arizona. * What are some of the favorite projects you’ve worked on? This would actually have to be the teaser trailer I produced for my novel, “Rise and Fall.” It was my first foray into filmmaking (I wrote, directed, starred in, and edited it), but it was the project that really cemented my love and appreciation for the entire filmmaking process. The experience was invaluable and I will be taking all I learned into my upcoming short. * Why should people film in Arizona? Arizona is beautiful! And the versatility of the landscape is unmatched. As a Prescott native, I would encourage any productions to also consider Prescott when location scouting. We’re a film friendly town with a lively art scene, mild weather, and plenty of local talent. But really, Arizona in its entirety just has a phenomenal pool of both cast and crew. I’ve already met so many amazing people, and you can tell everyone has a deep love for the art. APA MEMBERS!
