OLÉ OLÉ OLÉ 🎶🏆⚽️

What a weekend to remember. These boys showed so much heart, determination, and belief in each other, and it all led to them becoming champions. Every single player gave everything they had on that field, and I am so thankful for the effort, trust, and fight each one of them brought to this team. Watching them celebrate everything they worked for was such a special moment.

This was a reminder of what can happen when a team stays united and refuses to back down. We kept reminding them to stay focused, trust the process, and give everything they had, and they did just that. As the sidelines showed up for them with beautiful chants and so much noise, it was a reminder that we were right there with them through every fight.

Ended the match with 2-2 with amazing goals from
#8 - AB (@state48fc_16b_copper )
#17 - @masonplazola

When it came down to another penalty shootout, Raymond stepped up in a huge way and held it down for us. He was our MVP of the match 🧤⚽️👏, and we are also so thankful for our guest players Mateo, Izaac, AB, and Jaxson from our State48 brother teams, who fought right alongside us through this journey to help us get to the championship. 💪⚽️🏆💛 by @azacademyleague

2017 White had another extraordinary run in the AZ Academy League & came out as Two Time Back to Back Champions 🏆!

We faced our brothers from 2017 Black, in another tough & intense battle from beginning to end. Non-stop hustle & intensity, every minute of every play.

We came out scoring first by a great push in goal from Aaron Villagomez from a cross from Gyzer Aragon. Then moments later game was tied 1-1 by a great goal by 2017 Black. Gyzer Aragon came out the second half with an outstanding shot, to put us up 2-1, & then Ezra Sanchez put in our 3rd goal, with an outstanding shot, from a left foot through ball from Gyzer Aragon. 2017 Black forced an own goal from a corner, and the game ended in a great 3-2 Final!!

It was anybodys game, both teams had opportunity at goal, but the great defensive effort from Johan Gallardo, Jhovanny "Chapo" Soledad, Gyzer Aragon, & Moy Perez was the difference maker, to become AZ Academy League Champions 🏆!!

Aj Cordova, Kai Gonzalez, Gabriel Valiente, Kylian Benitez, & Nathan Palafox-Nagy had non-stop energy, hustle, & toughness & supported the team in keeping the momentum & closing out this game.

Extremely Proud of our team for their tenacity and hard work💪🏽!! #champion #champions #championship #proud #team by @azacademyleague

We came up short from winning the 7v7 championship today at the @azacademyleague while playing up one year in the 2017 bracket, and it still felt like a win!

Our boys demonstrated grit, composure, patience, and the ability to have fun while problem solving on their own. I was amazed by their capacity to work on their roles, support each other, and at the same time not be intimidated by size or skill level.

Like most of our club teams at the academy level, this team was built from 0 at our recreational program. 1) I’m thankful for the process we have in place (El Semillero) and our club structure which allows me to be the club founder, a soccer dad, and a club coach. 2) I’m thankful for the thriving and awesome community that we have here in the West Valley and now growing beyond that. 3) I’m thankful for the beautiful game that allows us to impact the lives of our future leaders and community servants!

Going back to the point, the beautiful game always wins! And it won today 🙏🏼

2017 White had an extraordinary run in the AZ Academy League & came out as Champions, once again!

On Friday, we faced a tough & undefeated Sunwarriors Zaragoza Team in Semi-Finals, that had 3 previous dominating wins over us, but that didn't stop us from taking on the challenge. It was our team defensive effort that got us the 2-0 shutout victory, in an intense back & forth game, that took a lot of energy & grit.

Then on Saturday, we faced our brothers from 2017 Black, in another tough & intense battle from beginning to end.

We came out scoring first by a great pressure goal, on a outstanding shot by Ezra Sanchez. Then moments later, the game was tied by a great free kick from 17 black.

It was anybodys game, both teams had opportunity at goal, but the great defensive effort prevented that. On one of last instances, our winger Aj Cordova makes a great run & gets fouled. Then Gyzer Aragon steps up to hit the free kick & get us the winning goal to become AZ Academy League Champions 🏆!!

Moises Perez, our goalkeeper, came up big, with some key saves in both games

Ezra Sanchez was truly incredible as striker and put 2 very important goals in the back of the net, when we most needed them. While Nathan Palafox-Nagy contributed to one goal as well.

Aj Cordova had non-stop energy, hustle, & toughness in the midfield, all game along & Jovani Moreno & Jhovanny Soledad supported him in keeping the momentum.

Johan Gallardo, Kai Gonzalez, & Gyzer Aragon were tremendous on the defensive end & protected the goal with everything they had.

Extremely Proud of our team for their tenacity and hard work💪🏽!! #champion #champions #championship #proud #team #hardwork #keepgoing #academia #challenge #trust #thebest

AZAL Winter Season Opener = DOMINATED! ⚽️

Cobras struck first and kept striking! 🐍
Our offense controlled the tempo and our defense was able to shut the opponent out of any chance to strike back. 10-0 to start the season, and we’re on to the next!

Keep striking, Cobras! 💙
