1. moved out at 18 in a brown community where that alone made me the black sheep. 2. married the love of my life against everyone's will. some people never came back from that. I stopped trying to be everything, everywhere, all at once. And instead, I started building systems that support the life I actually want. I say no. A lot. Because I donā€™t have family help. Thereā€™s no built-in village for me. So we created oneā€¦ through childcare, paid support, structure, and intention. I protect my time like it mattersā€¦ because it does. I know what an hour of my energy is worth, and I make decisions from that place. And the biggest shift? When Iā€™m off workā€¦ Iā€™m actually off. I get to be fully present with my babiesā€¦ without guilt, without the mental load pulling me in a million directions. At home, Iā€™ve let go of perfection. At work, Iā€™ve built a team I trust. In life, Iā€™ve learned that taking care of myself isnā€™t optionalā€¦ itā€™s necessary. And Iā€™ll be honestā€¦ nothing about this is perfect. Iā€™m building as I go, adjusting constantly, figuring it out in real time. But thatā€™s the beauty of it. Because what Iā€™ve built doesnā€™t just ā€œworkā€ā€¦ it gives me something I never had beforeā€¦ peace of mind. And if youā€™re out here building without a villageā€¦ youā€™re not behind.
