🫶🏻 It’s been a great year, and I hope you can look back on it with satisfaction, too. Pursuing your passion is a privilige and an amazing feeling. Not everyone gets that chance. Not everyone even gets the chance to learn how to read and write. Although significant progress has been made in literacy around the world in recent years, sustained financial support is still needed. You can find information about Azuliq’s annual donation to this cause here in this post. 📝 —Markus . . . #azuliqtype #typedesign typography #graphicdesign #theddod #youaretypography #designeverywhere #6tm_magazine #digitalarchive #type01 #contemporarytype #unbserved #bountyhuntersarchive #literacy by @azuliqtype
🤩 I was thrilled when Paris-based design studio Recto Verso asked me to be part of their next Typologie edition, which is dedicated to contemporary German type design. This is the fourth edition of Typologie, following the French, Swiss and British editions. I am very honored that Copanero was selected as one of the 100 typefaces to represent German creativity and craftsmanship. The book is now available and can be ordered via the link in my bio. Merci beaucoup! ☕️ Next fonts in use! Radix & Anima is a small café located in an old gatehouse on a former industrial site in Cologne, Germany. Their focus is on specialty coffee and vegan snacks. The café serves as a social meeting place for the neighborhood and also hosts cuppings, small concerts, and a running club. To promote their iced coffees during the summer, Radix & Anima designed two eye-catching stickers in black and yellow. The larger sticker uses Attendorn and reads “Radix & Anima / Coffee Lovers”. The smaller sticker features an “RA” monogram logo and uses Before Paris. Both typefaces are from Azuliq Type. Customers can take the stickers for free, and they are placed on the to-go cups of summer drinks. The café values sustainability, but to-go cups are available upon request. 💛 —Markus . . . #azuliqtype #typography #graphicdesign #theddod #youaretypography #fontsinuse #fontinuse #designeverywhere #6tm_magazine #digitalarchive #type01 #contemporarytype #unbserved #bountyhuntersarchive by @azuliqtype
🎂 Celebrating 3 years of Before Paris. This is a multi-purpose typeface that pushes the boundaries of a classic display font. It was created as an homage to the French movie “Elevator to the Gallows” (fr. “Ascenseur pour l’échafaud”). It would later be called the first significant work of the “Nouvelle Vague”. My goal was to recreate the character and the strong atmosphere of “Elevator to the Gallows” in a typeface. The glyphs contain multiple hidden references to the title and the movie’s hybrid style, with soft and sharp structures colliding and parts being cut off or twisted. 🖤 —Markus . . . #azuliqtype #typography #graphicdesign #theddod #youaretypography #newfonts#designeverywhere #6tm_magazine #digitalarchive #type01 #curatory #paris #contemporarytype #unbserved #milesdavis #bountyhuntersarchive by @azuliqtype
🩶 Using Attendorn to find out what the visual design for an exhibition on the future of art could look like. The various alternative letters in Attendorn are ideal for creating a little variety and excitement in the design. As you can see with the word Quest, for example, there is not only the standard Q, but also a second variant that is much wider. 🛠️ —Markus . . . #azuliqtype #typography #variablefont #newfonts #graphicdesign #theddod #youaretypography #designeverywhere #6tm_magazine #digitalarchive #type01 #curatory #contemporarytype #typosters #unbserved #bountyhuntersarchive by @azuliqtype
