My run with How To Make a Home ended last week, but the memories will stay with me forever.

It’s always an honor to stage manage a show of this caliber—an experience unlike any other. We performed in 40 living rooms across Atlanta, shining a light on the issue of homelessness in our city.

This story was deeply moving—and, dare I say, it hit very close to home.

I came into this thinking I understood enough about the unhoused community, and I quickly realized how much more there was to learn.

During our post-show TalkBacks, one question came up again and again: “What can I do when I encounter someone who’s unhoused?” The most powerful answer was also the simplest: Ask their name. Treat everyone with dignity. Language matters. Kindness matters.

Enjoy some BTS of our performances and me taking some shots of where I was calling the show! My personal favorite was a dresser next to a koi pond. 😆

Much love to @markell.williams and bringing this okay to life! You're a rockstar and one talented human being. I'm so happy I got to know you through this show!

And much love to Naya West for keeping us altogether and handling all the logistics! ❤️

Support the arts!

Y'all I'm so grateful for this weekend! I have the best group of friends and family that I could ever ask for. I barely had any plans for my birthday, but an impromptu trip to NYC was just what I needed.

The whole time was magical, and thank you to everybody that wished me a happy birthday on Saturday.

Thank you @tropicalrogue for Death Becomes Her ticket. And thank you @xenolaaa for all the recs.

@jordan__leanne you're the absolute best for letting me stay with you! I had such a blast singing with you at Union Hall and Marie's Crisis. Glad we survived the hot sauce challenge 😆

All the love to my DH crew on Thursday night, y'all are incredible <3 I'll see you next Thursday, probably.

And I would like to say a special thanks to @theduplex_nyc for Drops of Jupiter, I had to. For Danny 😛 @dannylovesjupiter

A little throwback to my 35th birthday last year in December. Before I left, my brother threw a surprise karaoke party, with all the friends! I still think about that night, and I adore the pic with everyone hiding behind the table on their phones. Love everyone that came to sing with me! That was such a blast!

We visited my Aunt and Uncle in DC. We drove all the way to Norfolk to tour the USS Wisconsin, the ship my Uncle served on during the Gulf War. Fancy dinners, one really bad Bob Dylan musical at the Kennedy Center, and an epic behind the scenes tour in the missile launch command center. This made for one memorable birthday!

Thanks for joining @xenolaaa @tropicalrogue @zahzuu22 last year. Love you guys! We'll have to go again! by @azura_bee

A free Saturday means a day hike. First time here! The canyons were beautiful. The trail went from easy to moderate. The history on how these were formed is also fascinating. Preserved under the Soil Conservation Act under FDR in 1935. Georgia turned this canyon into a state park in 1971.

There's a back country trail on the river that I'll have to try next time. It's about 6.6 miles, I'll have to come earlier to do that one.

10/10 hike!

Thanks to @funkybrew for the inspiration :) taken in Providence Canyon State Park by @azura_bee
