Hi @hoopforchange @stathamacademy @ademeba.usa @stgensbball family 🙏🏼What started as a last minute invitation the night before @ademeba.usa all star game to help fill in for some coaches who cancelled last minute, was the example of staying ready so you don’t have to get ready. Ended up helping coach 3 all star games of the best Mexican American talent California had to offer. 🇲🇽🌟Without risk, without investment monetarily and time wise, without trust and consistent loyalty, reaching levels like representing the USA at the Jr. Mexico Olympics in Guadalajara Mexico are not possible. We had the initial goal of coming home with gold, but with many of us being our 1st time competing internationally, didn’t anticipate / couldn’t adjust quick enough to the level of physicality allowed by home Mexican states compared to the favoritism whistle given to Mexican teams as opposed to Mexican Americans coming from Los Angeles. Even won our 2nd game, but the other team paid, protested, that the jerseys given to us by the home state Jalisco & @conadeoficial , were the only team in the entire tournament to not have numbers in the front. Due to such a ridiculous coincidence, the home state team we beat Jalisco paid to protest, and robbed our families of the win, and opportunity to advance to compete for gold. An extremely unfortunate situation our @ademeba.usa family found ourselves in, but like any unfortunate unforseen circumstances that happens to us in life, we can’t control what happens to us, but we chose to show these kids and families how to react to situations we can’t control. We chose to play our last game against eventual gold medalists Baja California amidst adversity, and gave the @conadeoficial Olympics 2025 the best game of the tournament, ultimately falling 92-96. Although we didn’t get the result we wanted, everyone grew so much more this week. Excited for the future of our program moving forward, learning from what we went through, not quitting, and continuing to provide opportunities otherwise not possible through our communities for the future generations ! 🇲🇽🌟✈️🥇🙏🏼🏀@lb_coachv @coachjfcov @aaronmezaphoto @coachgnat @rommel_pacheco by @b.adkins3

@hoopforchange 14U 41 @allinua_highdesert 21. Boys 1-1 on the day, get the opportunity to come back tomorrow to Seal beach in @aogeventssocal Battle of the Brands as an independent program, and play in the semifinals tomorrow against #1 HS team in the states program, LABC. An opportunity our boys have deserved with the sacrifices they’ve made over the last 8 weeks. Win or lose, we learn. And go back to the lab, get stronger, refine skills, come back in 8-10 weeks and see who’s been developing. Hungry for it all @hoopforchange 🌟🏆📈🧪🫡Appreciate our brother @curatedbymilli for highlighting our boys hunger and passion on the defensive end. We may not be the most athletic, the tallest, but what we lack in height we make up for in heart and energy. Excited for the next 4 years together with this group ! What an amazing ride. The boys from Sunland Tujunga made history and made it all the way to the California D5 State Championship Game ‼️ Out of 3500 high Schools in California , you boys made it to the final 10. An unbelievable achievement that you should all be proud of ‼️ All of the hard work, extra practices, extra lifts, extra morning practices, I’m so glad god blessed you guys with such an amazing experience. Understand , everything happens for a reason. It wasn’t our time yet. Use this pain, let it hurt. And use it to fuel your next journeys in this life. If you’re a senior, use this pain to fuel your dream of playing collegiately. If you’re an underclassman, what an amazing experience for you guys to be apart of ! You’ve seen the hard work and sacrifice me and the 1st batch of @hoopforchange boys made these last 5 years ! Time to work ! I WANT TO THANK EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF OUR @hoopforchange BROTHERS AND SISTERS FOR HELPING US GET TO SACRAMENTO TO SUPPORT OUR BROTHERS ‼️❤️ Took us 7 hours to get there, 7 hours to get back . But we would do it all again. Thank you brothers for accompanying me on this road trip @zaay_hoops @thereelantknee @anthony_rose1 ! @hoopforchange 10-12U played in our programs 1st tournament of 2026! We took our 10,11, & 12 year old beginner brothers to play some of the best competition in Southern California! Holding leads in 3-4 games, losing to the eventual champions by 2 at the buzzer in our 1st game after being up by 1 with a minute to go, showed our boys, parents, and families, our boys aren’t far off from some of the best programs in the state! With more chemistry, attention to detail, and a little more work, our boys will be deserving of champions very soon. Here are some 4th 5th & 6th grade buckets! @hoopforchange 7-12U 7 games this weekend of 7.18 & 7.19.26. Teaching the next generation, elementary and middle school boys and girls what it takes to reach their goals and dreams. We may not always win every game. Make every shot. Play to our expectations. How can we still help the team? What else can we do other than score or dribble to impact winning? When we make mistakes, turn the ball over, miss shots, do we complain? Quit? Cry? Or work twice as hard to clean up our mistakes or misses we make? Love the families and students who commit consistently to learn what it takes to not only be a great basketball player, but a leader of their communities, on and off the court. Couldn’t leave our @hoopforchange 8/9U boys and girls out of the fun this weekend! Last minute cancellation had coach scrambling all night and morning to find 3 of the best programs locally for our little 2nd & 3rd graders to compete at the highest level! Excited for the opportunity to compete, lead, grow, learn, inspire, and motivate our little ones to pursue self improvement everyday! 1 game Saturday 5PM2 games Sunday 2&3PM. 3 games for our 8/9U boys and girls this weekend! @hoopforchange 10-12U is taking our family this weekend for our 1st out of town tournament of 2026! @sabasketballtournaments Our 10-12U boys will travel down to Thousand Oaks / Newbury Park to compete with some of the best AAU programs in Southern California! 8-10 spots per team. 1 spot remaining. 9 spots locked. 2 games Saturday 7.18 8:55AM & 11:40AM. 2 games Sunday, game times, opponents will be out by Saturday night, depending on how team does on Saturday. Practice / skills training tonight Friday 7-9pm. Must attend practice if playing this weekend. Excited to motivate the boys to take their basketball journeys to the next level! We are a 501c3 non profit organization. Meaning all registration fees, travel, snacks, food, are covered by coaches and parents. @hoopforchange down as many as 15 to start this game, down by 2 with 3 seconds to go in game. Timeout. The ability to listen, take direction, execute under pressure as 8,9,10 year olds is EXTRAORDINARY HERE to tie the game up and send into overtime, where the boys and girls won by 2, to take the programs record to 4-0 on the day with 18 boys and girls coming to compete, learn, grow, and support one another! Thank you to all the parents and families who come support! We may not all play to our best potential, but like in life, how do we react when we don’t get what we expected? Do we cry? Complain? Talk bad about others? Or do we make the best of every situation life throws at us? Do we work harder for what we want in life? 🔥🌟🏆🙏🏻💜📈🧪Thank you again to all of the families who trust we want nothing more than to see your babies grow and succeed!
