Its not just about the work on distro days. Sometimes the most overlooked part in organizing is the experience of working with those in your own community. Getting to meet your neighbor and holding a conversation while seeing the care they put into feeding the community offers much needed hope in these unsure times. We need to see it our own eyes -in the streets, not just on social media. Many people around are us struggling and suffering in these economically difficult and politically volatile times. The powers that be would love nothing more for us to hideaway in our homes and shy away for human connection. How many of us know our neighbors? The same people we see at the bus stop everyday? We aim to offer a space where conversations can be made- offering an opportunity to engage and actively listen to the needs and wants of the everyone. Because whether we can all get along or not- we are all part of the same collective organism we call community. Regular people coming together to organize and help meet each other’s needs is a beautiful moment for our community to celebrate.
