During my sunrise expedition at Marlee Reserve, I came across a small mob of western grey kangaroos shortly after the morning shower had passed. They were incredibly relaxed and welcoming of my presence, calmly grazing and getting some tucker in as the first rays of sunlight broke through the clouds.

It's moments like these that remind me why I love wildlife photography. Watching animals simply go about their day in their natural environment is a privilege that never gets old.

Often overlooked as a pest, kangaroos are an iconic part of Australia's natural heritage. They play an important role in our ecosystems, and taking the time to observe them in the wild reminds us that every native species has its place.

A beautiful example of a female golden orb-weaver (Trichonephila edulis).

Fact - Females can reach a body span of around 40mm and legs spanning a massive 100mm, whereas their male counterparts will generally reach a body size of 5-7 mm and legs spanning around 20 mm.

There's something special about finding hidden waterfalls in the heart of Western Australia. As the last light of the day filtered through the paperbarks, this gentle cascade transformed into a scene of pure tranquillity—proof that the Pilbara is so much more than red dirt and rugged ranges.
