Dear Grandma,

Thank you.

For the lives you’ve touched. The mouths you’ve fed. The ailments you nurtured. The love and life that you breathed into generations that will flow into generations after us. For teaching me to love, unconditionally.

Your love overflowing and everlasting, will live with all of us forever. God has called you home, and I am at peace knowing that you can finally rest. What beauty you held. What warmth you exuded. What a light you were. Your spirit is eternal, and so is my love for you. And for the rest of my life, I will love others the way that you loved me.

As I continue to walk through life, I know you’ll be with me every step of the way. Everything you instilled in me shaped who I am today, and who I will one day become. Thank you, Helen Dennis. For everything.

Love, Brooklyn
