POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Whether we were newly together, having a baby of our own, or not together at all—you showed up for me. You held my hand in the hospital and operating room, stood by my side, and helped take care of me while I recovered. (All three times)

You didn’t have to. There were times when we weren’t even ā€œus,ā€ and you still made sure I wasn’t going through it alone.

It’s hard not to fall back in love with you when you show up and take care of me the way that you do.

I think somewhere along the way I started realizing that love isn’t always in the big words or grand gestures. Sometimes it’s the person who stays. The person who holds your hand when you’re scared, takes care of you when you can’t take care of yourself, and shows up when there’s nothing in it for them.

Thank you for showing up and loving me the way you do šŸ¤ by @b.king_89

28 days. We did it. šŸ¤

Today we officially finished our 28-Day Communication Challenge, and I’m genuinely so proud of us.

This wasn’t about learning how to never argue or suddenly having a perfect relationship. It was about learning how to understand each other better—recognizing our patterns, communicating what we actually need, taking accountability for our own part, and learning how to come back together when things don’t go perfectly.

Some days were easy. Some opened up conversations we really needed to have. But for 28 days, we kept showing up for each other—and honestly, it really did change the way we communicate.

We still have growing to do, and we always will. But we understand each other differently now, and we have actual tools to use when things get hard instead of falling back into the same old patterns. šŸ¤

And if you’re a couple who loves each other but feels stuck—maybe you keep having the same argument, one of you shuts down while the other pushes harder, or you just feel like you’re constantly missing each other—I really, really recommend this program. Even if your relationship isn’t ā€œin trouble.ā€ Sometimes you just need help learning how to hear each other differently. It genuinely helped us.

Huge thank you to @happycouplesconnect for creating Fighting For Us. šŸ¤ We’re walking away from these 28 days with a better understanding of each other and of ourselves.

Here’s to growth, accountability, healing, and continuing to choose each other. šŸ¤ by @b.king_89

Shedding old weight, growing something new.
Doing the work, having the difficult conversations, apologizing for past transgressions, leaning in, actively loving each other everyday.
Watching you step into your feminine as a newfound girl mom, has been the most amazing thing to watch.

Sometimes love doesn’t get the pretty story.

Sometimes it gets the messy one.

The one where two people love each other and still hurt each other. Where life, trauma, fear, pride, and our own unhealed pieces get in the way. Where things fall apart. Where you spend time apart learning who you are outside of each other.

Sometimes, after all of that, you find your way back.

Not because we’re pretending the past didn’t happen.
Not because everything is suddenly perfect.
And not because having a family means two people should stay together at any cost.
But because somewhere along the way, we both started doing the work.
We learned how differently we love. How differently we communicate. What triggers us. What shuts us down. What the other person needs in order to feel safe, respected, heard, and loved.

There has been accountability. There have been apologies. There has been forgiveness. And most importantly, there has been change that can actually be felt, not just promised.

But I’m learning that strength can also look like allowing yourself to reconsider something you once thought was over. Letting someone show you who they are now instead of forever holding them hostage to who they were then. And being brave enough to admit that maybe you’ve changed too.
Our children aren’t the reason to stay in something unhealthy. They deserve better than that.
But they are a beautiful reminder of what our love created. And if we can give them a family built on something healthier than what existed before—on communication, respect, accountability, forgiveness, and two people who are willing to keep choosing growth—then I think that’s worth fighting for.
So we aren’t going backward.
We aren’t trying to recreate what we had.
We’re starting again.
Slowly. Intentionally. With boundaries. With a lot more understanding. And with our eyes wide open.
Maybe sometimes the beautiful love story is two imperfect people who finally learn how to love each other better.

Here’s to second chances.
Here’s to doing the work.
And here’s to seeing what happens when two people choose each other again. šŸ¤Ž by @b.king_89
