Here’s how my Queen of Pain tattoo has healed up. Definitely need to make some time to get her touched up by the amazing @randy_drako_inkfiend ⁣
Everyday I see my tattoo I am so glad I got it done. It’s a living embodiment of my main driving force, pain 😅⁣

Life is suffering. Its an ideology I adopted from eastern religions such as Buddhism. Buddhist say that life is suffering because of we mistake ourselves as separate entities from each other and struggle to maintain a false ego⁣. ⁣
It is said that the path away from suffering is enlightenment. To remember that we should not live in a self imposed prison of ego, and instead live for the benefit of everyone. ⁣

6 years ago today, I gave you a replica teal teapot from The Office with a note asking you to be my girlfriend. I knew that was the start of our adventure together. With you, I found a comfort I had never felt before. I could be my goofy self around you, and you loved it.

From our first San Diego vacation, to our rooftop engagement, our wedding, and now moving into our second apartment soon, I have loved every minute of it. I know we’ll continue to grow our love in the years to come.

This week we laid my wife’s grandpa to rest.

Grandpa was a great man. He served in the Korean War, worked hard throughout his life, and always did right by his family. His spirit will live on through his family. He’s a great example of how a man should be.

His passing really shows me how important it is to celebrate life while it’s here, to take vacations, indulge in your interests, and of course always enjoy a nice cake and ice cream.

In 2009, Bonelli Park felt like freedom.

Before I had a car. Before I had a job. I would bike five miles just to wander. Just to be alone with my thoughts, the trees, the lake, the flowers for a while.

As life got busier and my goals got heavier, I went less and less. I hadn’t been back since 2020. A week ago, I returned looking for reflection.

What I found was nostalgia in its purest form.

For a moment, it felt like stepping into an older version of myself. The air smelled the same. The trails curved the same. But I didn’t.

Back then, I had freedom but no clear ambition. I wanted to make something of myself, I just didn’t know what. Now I carry goals with real weight to them. I’m aiming to elevate myself. I have people relying on me.

I’m grateful that space is tucked away in San Dimas, an escape from the noise of the city. A place where nature can hold your thoughts for a while.

Bonelli reminds me of where I’ve been and who I’ve been.
