Two years of restoration, and this 1940 Waco UPF-7 flies again.

From the first day in the shop to its first flight, this aircraft has been rebuilt with countless hours of craftsmanship, care, and attention to detail.

There’s nothing quite like seeing all that work take to the sky.

✈️ WE MADE AOPA PILOT!

We’re incredibly proud and honored to see West Coast Air Creations featured in the October 2026 issue of AOPA Pilot Magazine.

This article tells a piece of our story — from learning aircraft fabric work as teenagers right here at Flabob Airport, to building a shop dedicated to preserving and restoring vintage aircraft from the data plate out.

What started with an opportunity to learn a trade has grown into something we could have never imagined. Every aircraft that comes through our hangar carries a history, and we’re grateful that our customers trust us to help preserve those stories and get these airplanes back where they belong — in the air.

None of this happens without our crew. The talent, patience, craftsmanship and countless hours our team puts into every restoration is what makes West Coast Air Creations what it is today. We’re proud of where we started, proud of how far we’ve come, and excited for what’s ahead.

A huge thank you to AOPA Pilot, writer Alicia Herron, and photographer Chris Rose for spending time with us and telling our story.

From fabric to full restorations — keeping aviation history flying. ✈️

California → Oshkosh🦅

A look back at this year’s cross-country journey aboard the Flabob Express as we made our way to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.

Every mile is a reminder of why we keep this historic DC-3 flying—to preserve its legacy, share its story, and inspire the next generation of aviators.

Thank you to our crew, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who followed along on the journey. Until the next adventure.
