🎶 "Sometimes I feel like a motherless child..." 🎶

Afro-British composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor originally set a collection of Black spirituals to piano, and later piano trio following his series of visits to the Americas.

“What Brahms has done for the Hungarian folk music, Dvorak for the Bohemian, and Grieg for the Norwegian, I have tried to do for these Negro melodies.”
