Beatober; posting a beat (if you can call this a beat) every day for the month of October.

I'm tired, not feeling like making or posting a beat today, but I said I was doing this thing, and we're reaching about halfway.

So I made some cable spaghetti for dinner with a Moog thingy and Pro VS Mini. Got to plugging up CVs and MIDIs and started turning these witty bitty knobs. Then, poked a plinky-ass drum pattern. Hit record, acted silly, click, click, upload and goodnight, homies.

Beatober; making and posting a beat every day in the month of October.

Here is day 11.

Got this Yamaha YPT 220 for $30 bucks at Goodwill today. It's nasty dirty and needs a good cleaning. The knobs generate static, and the power port is so loose it powers off if it is played too hard.

But it has some cool sounds.

Every sound you hear in this video is coming directly from the YPT 220 and into the recording, with no sampling of sounds, all live.

Synth is being played by the buit in drum loop controls, MIDI programming in a Akai MPC Live 2, and my f¡ngers.

Posting a new beat every day for the entire month of October. Beatober!

Here is day #10.

Ren and Stimpy is a favorite of mine, and this sample of it came out quite nice. The beat doesn't even really need the bass line I played, but I threw that in to make the IG post a little more entertaining. If the beat ever becomes something, the bassline would probable be took out and the sample chopped a little more for a chorus-like section.

Here is day 9.

Today was a dookie around on the 303-wanna-be bassline synth with some standard AiR MPC Live plugins, finga tappy tappy typa day. Was actually very hard to be creative today for some reason. But I made this anyway, cause,... BEATOBER!
