Dyeing a Rick Owens shirt black 🖤 using Procion MX jet black dye and Rit Back to Black kit.

The shirt is a splintered Peter long sleeve from SS24 LIDO. Original color was “milk” (white). Pants are Rick Owens cargobelas from FW25 CONCORDIANS.

Command Avoidance, 2026

My brain almost completely checks out sometimes when receiving instructions, directions, rules, etc. It shuts down, disassociates, redirects, zones/stresses tf out. Even for innocuous stuff like someone explaining the rules of a card game. Brain does not compute, then turns to mush 😭 who can relate??

For most of my life, it felt like there was something deeply wrong with me. Maybe I just naturally rebelled to things? Or hated following rules? Despised blindly going along w the norm? Why can’t I just fit in and blur into the reality abyss like everyone else?

Happy priDEMONth 🦇

Pride month always makes me extra proud and vulnerable and mad and sad and ecstatic and angry and ???

It’s a reminder of the qu33r ppl who fought and continue to fight to simply exist on this alien ass planet. A reminder to love unabashedly, to continue to experiment with embraced identity, to acknowledge the privilege (if we’re lucky enough to have it) of being able to celebrate non-mainstream ideals and practices openly, to protect the vulnerable, to actively refuse conformity, to fly our freak flags high, to always question and contort the scripts given to us at birth which often do not serve us.

Pride can take infinite forms. For me, it assumes layers of darkness and mystery. An invisible cloud in the shadows. It stretches and contracts as it evolves and devolves. It’s an equilibrium of dark and light. It’s everything and nothing at all. It’s protection and celebration. It’s staring at eternal melancholy in the face and laughing at it where necessary. It’s a dream, tho sometimes a nightmare. It’s a test with no correct or incorrect answers. It’s a silent scream. It’s a deafening silence.

Practicing off-camera flash photography for the 1st time in a million years 📸

Used to shoot a ton of #strobist portraits like this (about 20 years ago, wooof lol - you can see examples on benaqua.org), but stopped for various reasons. I’m suddenly feeling the impulse to dive back in. Always looking for new portrait subjects/weirdos, plz DM if interested.
