الحمد لله الذي بنعمته تتم الصالحات

Today marks a moment I am truly proud of. I am incredibly happy to be graduating with a Master of Science in Natural Language Processing, and deeply grateful to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for this generous scholarship and life changing opportunity.

This journey was far from easy. It was filled with failures and successes, sick days, back pain, and tired eyes. There were moments of breakdown, but also the strength to rise again every single time. Countless late nights were spent researching, studying, and pushing through challenges that once felt impossible.

Coming from a computer engineering background with only a small exposure to AI, the beginning was uncertain. I still remember how my friend and I used to ask ourselves simple questions like what is CNN, what is RNN, what are deep learning models, what is an LLM, and how can we even use it. Those questions were the first steps of a long and transformative journey.

Along the way, I learned two lessons that will stay with me. First, never call something difficult before you truly try it. Second, the moment you think you are a professional is often the moment you realize how much more there is to learn. True expertise makes you more aware of how vast the field really is, and how small your own knowledge still is within it.

Today, I feel more confident in the fields of NLP, LLMs, and research. I am also very happy and proud to have achieved two publications at ACL, which marks an important milestone in my journey.
