When a child finds out Santa isn’t real, something shifts. It’s not just a character that disappears it’s the first time reality breaks a comforting story. That moment quietly shapes how they trust, how they question, and how they cope.

That’s why my kids know Santa is pretend. Not to steal the joy but to protect the truth. They still enjoy the moments, the fun, the laughter with other kids. They play along without losing themselves in the lie.

When they grow up, they’ll know this: their parents never sold them illusions. We gave them reality without taking away wonder. And because of that, they won’t need to replace broken myths with TV, sports, or distractions to feel whole.

They’ll be part of the few the ones who don’t confuse entertainment with purpose, or someone else’s win with their own. by @b_711_7
