Every great campaign needs an even better campaign manager… 💜 Meet Lizzie, the other half of my Champion of the Year dream team! Lizzie and I were introduced at the Best Buddies kickoff at Backwoods, where she was guest bartending—and let me tell you, she stole the show. I knew right away that we were going to be fast friends. Lizzie is hilarious, determined, and incredibly active in our community. She loves cooking, playing games (a girl after my own heart) and attending her program at Nazareth University. Now she can officially add Campaign Manager to her résumé. Over the next few weeks, Lizzie and I are taking on this Best Buddies Champion of the Year campaign together. We’ll be raising money, showing up around Rochester, planning some fun surprises, and doing everything we can to spread the message of friendship, opportunity, inclusion, and belonging. And after getting to know her, I can tell you one thing for certain: I may be the Champion candidate, but Lizzie is absolutely the boss {my boss}. 💃🪩💜 taken in Rochester, New York by @b_carp19

So, what exactly does Best Buddies do? You’re going to hear me talking A LOT about Best Buddies over the next few weeks, so let’s start with the most important part: the mission. Best Buddies creates opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through friendship, leadership, employment, and inclusion. And while those may sound like simple things, they can have an incredible impact. Friendship — Creating meaningful one-to-one friendships and social connections. Jobs — Helping people with IDD find meaningful employment, earn an income, and build independence. Leadership — Giving people with IDD opportunities to develop their voices, advocate for themselves, and lead in their communities. Inclusion — Building communities where people with IDD aren't simply included—they belong. That last one is a big one for me. Everyone deserves friendship. Everyone deserves opportunity. And everyone deserves to feel like they have a place in our community. That’s what we’re raising money for. Over the next several weeks, I’ll be sharing ways you can help me support Best Buddies—and I have some REALLY fun things planned. I’m Bri 👋 and I’m so excited to officially introduce myself as a 2026 Best Buddies Champion of the Year candidate! 💜 If you know me, you know I love bringing people together—whether it’s through events, our Rochester community, or finding ways to support causes that truly matter. That’s exactly why I’m so proud to be part of this campaign. Best Buddies is all about friendship, inclusion, opportunity, and belonging for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities—and over the next several weeks, I’ll be raising funds and awareness to help further that mission right here in our community.
