Yesterday, we had to make the tough decision to let our Flair Bear walk into the heavens. My girl was far more than just my dog. She was the keeper of my faith, the calm of my often stormy life, and a fellow adventurer. She is one of the loves of my life and one of my best friends.

In her last days, her physical self started to deplete, and I know she was in pain. But despite her physical circumstances, I could tell her spirit was still alive and vibrant. She simply just wanted to snuggle in her last moments.

Flair, from your daddy, your family, and anyone else who was blessed to have met and spent time with you — rest in peace. We love and cherish you. Until we meet again. ❤️ by @b_filli

Over the weekend, Daniela asked me to come to the No Kings march in Grandview. I’m not a protest guy, never have been. Honestly, neither is Daniela. But the world feels different lately, and what’s been happening has hit both of us in different ways.

Daniela and I don’t see politics the same. We’ve had some heated arguments that crossed lines between us. It’s not healthy, but it’s real. When things in the world get extreme, emotions do too, and sometimes the people closest to you take the hits.

At the march, there were people and signs I didn’t agree with one bit. But I went because I wanted to support her. Watching her there, seeing how deeply it all affects her, reminded me who she is at her core. She’s been heartbroken over the way people treat each other, crying over strangers, following journalists trying to do good, feeling everything so deeply.

When I step back from our arguments, I see it clearly: she just wants innocent, helpless people to be safe. That’s her heart.

That’s why I love her so much. Even when we disagree, even when it gets messy, her compassion never changes.

That march wasn’t my thing, but supporting her was.

Kamarino’s first day of school in Dublin, Ohio!

Happy Father’s Day, Dad!

We celebrated a little early this year, but I just want to say how lucky I am to call you my pops. I’m so grateful for everything you do and especially for sharing the Memorial Tournament experience with me and Grandpa. That day will go down as one of the best of my life.

Thank you, Dad, for always being there. And Grandpa, thank you for the foundation you’ve laid for all of us.
