POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

When we stand in awe of God, everything else finds its proper size.

Ten years ago, Psalm 32:8 carried me through a very hard season of depression. I meditated on it for an entire year.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you.”

I needed to know what direction to go in. I needed to know that I was seen and heard. I needed strength to keep going and close confirmation that every step was being established for a greater purpose.

Now, Psalm 33:8 resonates deeply:

“Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.”

After documenting over 490+ steps on the Journey Wall, this season feels different.

Less striving.
More gratitude.
Less fear.
More clarity.

God was telling the truth the whole time. For a decade, my life has been shaped by one page of Scripture, one promise that carried me through every season.

My Heavenly Father kept His eye on me… and now He is lifting my eyes to see Him.

That’s not coincidence.
That’s maturation and growth.

And I am in awe, deeply grateful, and a living witness of God’s faithfulness.

In an attempt not to withhold this message from anyone starting where they are with what they have, I’ll reserve the making of this process and updates for another time. For now, let this be your reminder that your steps are truly ordered by God when you believe.

Thank you @beautifulbrittd for capturing these beautiful photos of the @powerspeakslouder Journey Wall at our Grand Opening. Appreciate you. ✨

OMG WE WON OUR FIRST EMMY! 🏆 From the trenches to triumph. This is the very room where I was led to build quietly with God, long before anyone was watching. It’s where the @powerspeakslouder Still Standing documentary was birthed in faith through PSL Film and carried from vision to victory. This Emmy isn’t just about a film—it’s about faith, obedience, and the power of community.

How does a Creative Arts grant project become an Emmy Award-Winning documentary? Through purpose, partnership, and the invaluable support of @creativeinlandsocal and @inlandempirecf, who helped make this vision a reality.

I dedicate this Emmy to the @powerspeakslouder team and volunteers, our partners and contributors, the Still Standing cast and film crew, our Moreno Valley community, the IE, Interact clubs, and Youth Advisory Council District 5 volunteers, and everyone whose support, stories, and belief made this incredible film possible.

@terayle, Jordan, and Dorian — thank you for playing MAJOR roles in this journey. We did it! Beyond proud of you!

HUGE thanks to Pam Grogan from @nehemiahfund, Melody Hendrickson @melodyhendrickson and @roberthendricksontattoo for believing in this work from the beginning and playing a key role in helping it reach this moment.

I am living proof that trusting God’s plan, even when it is not the easiest or most popular, can lead to victories you never saw coming. I am in AWE.

Student Q&A 2 of 7. What inspired you to create a food organization? Although food distribution wasn’t the beginning, the birth of our Community & Street Outreach has grown PSL tremendously.

Thank you to the students who asked such thoughtful questions.

Student Q&A 1 of 7. How did you start PSL? From a small room and a prayer for purpose to impacting 123,000 people and counting. This is one dimension of how @powerspeakslouder’s 10-year journey began.

Mini Visionary. Thank you Aunty Karen for sending this candid capture in my grandparents’ kitchen. Little B had no idea what she was building toward. Neither do you, sometimes. That’s the point.

See you soon. ✨ by @b_hunter_

IE to LA. It was an absolute pleasure to join @soulsavingproductionsorg for their 2nd Sundays on Skid Row alongside @the_underdog_campaign, @thecityeats, @joy2la and all the other amazing organizations.

Real community care goes beyond handing out resources. It’s showing up, seeing people, and loving them without conditions.

Happy birthday, James (@c.jaywaters)! Your dedication and love for the LA community will never go unnoticed.

I still think about the day I stepped out on faith and converted a small bedroom into a home office that displayed our first Community Wall…

This closes out our month of July as we celebrate our 10-year milestone. Big shoutout to God and the PSL team for the dedication.

Documenting these steps has kept me grounded and inspired for what’s ahead. It’s not about the awards…it’s about the JOURNEY.

Follow @powerspeakslouder on IG and Substack for current and future impact stories.

Never forget how far you’ve come.

“Community Built. Destiny Driven.” Receiving the 2025 State of the City Community Contributor of the Year Award is a reminder to keep showing up through the highs and lows, no matter how turbulent the journey may be!

We never chased awards or accolades. Our focus has always been to stay faithful to the work we are called to do. Moreno Valley is my stomping ground and the place where everything changed in me for the better.

Grateful to Mayor Cabrera, the Moreno Valley City Council, and our phenomenal team, volunteers, and partners who embody #WhoCaresWeDo every day!

The PSL journey continues…

What inspired me to start @powerspeakslouder?

It wasn’t strategy.
It wasn’t funding.
It wasn’t a five-year plan.

It was depression.
…and a tender heart for God’s plan.

What felt like pressure… was actually progression.
What felt like breaking… was building.

I didn’t ignore the prompts.
The quiet nudges.
The discomfort.
The questions that wouldn’t leave me alone.

Sometimes your lowest place is introducing you to your assignment.

Don’t ignore the prompts.

9 Years in the Making. ✨This journey has been one of purpose, faith, and unwavering commitment.

On July 25th, we quietly turned 9.
9 years of believing, serving, evolving, and standing for something greater than ourselves. And now, we’re still standing stronger than ever.

PSL Film has always been a division of Power Speaks Louder — created to amplify voices, tell powerful stories, and inspire change through film.

To every hand that helped, every heart that gave, and every voice that believed in us, thank you. You’ve been a part of this from day one, and we carry your impact with us into every next step.

This isn’t just a celebration of time. It’s a celebration of impact, growth, and the lives we’ve touched together.

Let’s keep going. The best is still unfolding!
