About a month ago Derek and I moved from Louisiana to Texas. It’s been hard to say goodbye.

Ever since I was little I knew I was going to LSU. What I didn’t know is that the state I chose for college would be my home for 12 years instead of 4.

Louisiana had been a place to mature and grow
I met the best of friends!
I had the opportunity to grow closer to family that has always been separated by a road trip.
I graduated college
I met the love of my life Derek Knijn
I got my first big girl job
LSU won a national championship
I bought a vintage bug
We bought our first house
We got our own dog
Derek and I got married ❤️
I ran my first (and second) half marathon
And we continued to make new friends and explore the state that was our home!

It’s been harder than I expected to leave behind our families, the food, the culture, the beauty of the state, friends, and our blackberry bushes (lol).

The good thing is it’s less of a goodbye and more a see you later 👋 taken in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by @b_isforbaxter

It’s crazy to think Derek and I are together because my mom insisted that I not walk the Camino alone. I literally asked everyone I knew but he was the only one who said yes to walking 500 miles with me ❤️ #caminodesantiago by @b_isforbaxter
