My Dad was recognized by the Quilts of Valor Foundation for his Service. He is a 100% Disabled Veteran. It was an emotional and humbling day. I said goodbye to my sweet Ruckus 2 years ago today. This journey has permanently changed me in a loving, spiritual way that I am grateful for these memories.

Ruck and I had an extraordinary 13 year adventure together. Throughout my grieving process Jesus has taught me a masterclass in letting go and giving it all to him. I always knew she was on loan to me and one day I would have to giver her back.

She is my Angel and I think about her daily. Happy 2nd Heavenly Birthday girl, love you Princess Ruckus. This was our first and my favorite picture of us 12/11/10. ❤️🙏🏾

This year for me has been a blessing… not due to material things but how my relationship with the Lord has grown also my Friends and Family being awesome… It was still a challenging but encouraging 365 days.

My beautiful Mom and Dad got married 56 years ago today in a small Chapel in Downtown Dallas. They have never left each other’s side since and still adore one another.

According to the US census only 6% of Americans are married for more than 50 years.
Both in their 80’s and dealing with various health issues, still live in the home I grew up in taking care of each other with love and grace.

These celebrations become more special each year for many reasons. Words can’t even describe how grateful I am for them. Mom & Dad I love you with all my heart. Thank You. ❤️

We had to say goodbye to our sweet Charlie. He has been my Parents everything for the last 12 years…

Charlie is a Kuvasz - Hungarian Guardian Dog. He has a powerful presence with such a gentle demeanor and is always smiling. Adoringly referred to as King Charlie.

Charlie and Ruckus had a very special bond and spent 11 years as Pals. I loved Charlie as if he was my own. This guts me in so many ways. My heart and prayers are with my Folks.

I am painfully learning that we only have these angels on loan from God and we do have to give them back eventually.

Thank You for everything sweet Charlie. You are a true gentleman and will be terribly missed. I love you. RIP 💔🌈🙏🏾 taken in Arlington, Texas by @b_melear75
