These pics are from a few weeks back, when the @stxbombers Bomber Beekeepers and I discovered that OUR BEES SURVIVED WINTER! This is a big deal, considering the entire hive blew over during a freezing rain windstorm in December (props to Gavin for spotting it!). Despite it all, they won. Spring 2026, let’s eat! 🥳 by @b_thekeeper

Last year, @cincinnatimagazine put together a really fun article documenting my journey from being a marketing & sales guy to a conservationist. Despite having several marketing internships in college, I often felt frustrated at my desk because I couldn’t personally connect with the products/services we were promoting.After graduating, I worked at @curiositycincy for a short time and rubbed shoulders with some wildly creative people. It was there that I learned the power of using creativity for good. Fast forward to now, I “sell” conservation with @b_thekeeper and the @civic_garden_center and am loving life. WHAM! It’s been over a year since I became the Community Engagement Coordinator @ the @civic_garden_center , and I’m still having a blast.Most folks think beekeeping 🐝 is responsible for my interest in conservation, but that’s only partially true. One of the first “green” skills I learned was the art of composting 🪱 through the CGC’s Master Composter Program in 2017. From there, I got into native plants, and the rest is history.IMO we’re the most down-to-earth environmental education nonprofit in the City. But, hey, don’t just accept my blanket statement as fact. Come see for yourself. We always have fun volunteer opportunities and classes on the calendar (link in bio).We also love donations, if you’re feeling generous.One year down, more fun to come! by @b_thekeeper

Last summer, we went ALL OUT on the pollinators for two cool people..The homeowners wanted less yard maintenance and more time to enjoy their property with friends. They also do these crazy 5k Viking races, and there’s nothing worse than coming home from an exhausting 5k Viking race and being greeted with a ton of yard work..We linked up with @sustainable_sights, replaced most of their grass with pollinators (reducing their mowing burden) and installed a brass field patio to inspire philosophical fireside chats. I even posed as a stone mason for a month and built a really sturdy-looking wall with my friends. by @b_thekeeper
