Every time I nod my head, I’m choosing to be brave again. Every time I get bucked off, I’m reminded that hitting the ground doesn’t mean I have to stay there. Every time I climb back on, I prove to myself that there are still parts of me nobody has been able to take away.

Bronc riding has broken my body a few times, but somehow it keeps putting pieces of my heart back together.

Out there, I don’t have to explain why I’m hurting. I don’t have to pretend I’m okay. I don’t have to beg anyone to see my worth.

I just ride.

And somewhere between the chute opening and my boots hitting the dirt again, I find myself.

Maybe I’ll never be completely healed from everything life has handed me.

But every bronc heals a little bit of me. by @baailsssz
