Reminder: Am Samstag, dem 16. Mai, werden wir (die Macherinnen von Radio Industry) einen neuen Raum für zeitgenössische Kunst an der Woltersdorfer Schleuse eröffnen. Von Mai bis November werden elf Ausstellungen + Performances in Studio II und im Studio für Radio + Grafik (STRG) annonciert.Beginnen werden wir mit einer Ausstellung von Thomas Scheibitz – die Ausstellung »Augenwasser/Doppelkompass« zeigt Malerei, Skulptur und Siebdruck. Das Grußwort spricht die Kuratorin und Kunsthistorikerin @babette_werner , die Vernissage startet am 16. 16.5.—6.6.2026 THOMAS SCHEIBITZ AUGENWASSER/DOPPELKOMPASS VERNISSAGE: 16.5. ⁄ 18 UHRDie Ausstellung »Augenwasser/Doppelkompass« zeigt Malerei, Skulptur und Siebdruck in Studio II, einem der Räume von Radio Woltersdorf. Durch die Besonderheit des Raumes an der Schleuse in Woltersdorf ist die kommende Ausstellung geprägt. Der umgenutzte Holzpavillion hat einen Kabinett-Charakter, in dem man den historischen Ursprung oder das ehemalige »Bau-Bild« noch erahnen kann. Ein vorgesetzter neuer Portikus wird die neue Funktion des Gebäudes noch verstärken.Der Titel der Ausstellung verweist, wie in der künstlerischen Praxis bei Thomas Scheibitz häufig der Fall, auf Unvereinbarkeiten, die in ihrer poetischen Verbindung einen eigenen und nicht immer begründbaren, entgegenkommenden Sinn ergeben. Ein »doppelter Kompass« ist wie eine Versicherung für einen Stillstand bei der Suche nach einer Richtung bzw. vom Wortstamm her gesagt, bedeutet Richtung auch — Sinn. Das Augenwasser ist wiederum die Grundlage dafür, dass wir sehen, was wir sehen können. Die zentrale Skulptur der Ausstellung ist eine —Wächterfigur – aus dem Jahr 2026. "I am interested in the point of tension between how object and photograph or copy of an object relate to each other (…)", says Marie Rief about her work.Marie Rief works with analog photographic paper, drawings, laser printing and copying. "Yes, I love heart-shaped potatoes, especially the ones that are starting to get old, rot and sprout."Agnès Varda is regarded as one of the most influential creative personalities of our time - the photographer, filmmaker and visual artist, who died in 2019 at the age of ninety, left behind a life's work spanning more than six decades, in which the pioneer of modern film constantly reinvented herself. Her last creative period - her "third life as a young artist", as she called it herself - is still far less known and less accessible than the numerous films she directed before.The solo exhibition in silent green's Betonhalle is now dedicated to this "third life", which she began at the age of 75 at the Venice Biennale.
