Your tiny baby is starting to become a real little person… Here are 5 adorable things your 5-6 m/o may start doing this month! 👇

🦶 1. Toe tasting
Those little toes aren’t just cute, they’re fascinating! Bringing their feet to their mouth helps babies explore their body and supports flexibility, coordination, and sensory development.

🙅‍♀️ 2. Stranger danger
Your baby may suddenly become clingy or shy around unfamiliar people. This is a normal sign that they’re learning to recognize familiar caregivers and forming strong attachments.

💨 3. Blowing raspberries
Those funny spit bubbles are more than adorable, they’re helping your baby practice using the muscles needed for speech and communication.

🗣️ 4. Recognizing their own name
Many babies begin turning their head and responding when they hear their name. It’s an exciting milestone that shows growing attention and language development.

🍓 5. Pretend chewing & staring at your food
If your baby seems to copy your chewing or can’t take their eyes off your plate, they’re showing growing curiosity about food. This is common around 5–6 months, but readiness for solids depends on more than just interest.

✨ Every baby develops at their own pace, so it’s perfectly normal if your little one isn’t doing all of these yet.

💛 Which one is your little one guilty of? Let me know in the comments!

👶🏼✨ Newborns can do some surprisingly weird things and many are completely normal!

Grunting, occasional eye-crossing, the sudden “startle” with their arms, smiling in their sleep, and keeping those little legs curled up are all common during the newborn stage as their nervous system, muscles, and coordination develop. 🥹

That said, every baby is different, and these are general newborn behaviors, not a checklist. If you notice anything that concerns you, reach out to your pediatrician.

📌 Save this for your newborn days, you’ll probably Google at least one of these! 😂

✨ dear mama,

slow down, this season is passing faster than you think.

as a mama of 3, I can tell you… it really does go by faster than anyone warns you. 🤍

the days may feel long. the endless laundry, the messes, the sleepless nights, the moments where you wonder when you’ll get a break, but somehow, those tiny babies become little people right before your eyes.

i look at my older children and realize the days I thought would last forever are the days I wish I could go back to.

so soak it all in, mama. hold them a little longer. say yes to the extra cuddle. take the pictures. listen to their little voices.

because one day, you’ll miss the little arms that needed you, the little feet that followed you, and the moments that felt so ordinary but were actually everything. 🤍

this season is fleeting… and it’s worth slowing down for.

✨ 5 signs your baby is building a healthy, secure attachment 🤍

• Calms when you comfort them: They begin to learn that you’re a safe place when they’re upset, even if they don’t calm down right away.

• Seeks you for reassurance: Looking for you, reaching for you, or settling more easily with you shows they see you as their safe base.

• Makes eye contact & smiles at you: These early social interactions strengthen your bond and support healthy emotional development.

• Responds to your voice:Turning toward your voice or calming when you speak shows they associate your presence with comfort and security.

• Enjoys gentle interactions: Cuddles, talking, singing, and quiet play help build trust and deepen your emotional connection.

💛 Remember: Secure attachment isn’t about never crying or getting everything right. It’s built through consistent, loving, responsive care, most of the time, not all the time.

📌 Save this for later and share with a parent who needs this reminder.

Whenever I feel like my milk supply is dropping, this is the routine I always come back to. 🤍

Power pumping mimics cluster feeding, which may encourage your body to produce more milk over time.

✨ A few things that help support my supply:
💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
🥗 Eat enough calories and balanced meals.
🍼 Be consistent with your power pumping sessions, I try to do mine every morning around the same time.
🤱 Continue nursing or pumping frequently, since milk removal is one of the biggest drivers of milk production.

Some moms notice a difference within a few days, while others may need to stay consistent for up to 2 weeks before seeing an increase.

Every breastfeeding journey is different, and this may not work for everyone, but it’s one of the first things I try whenever I notice a dip in my supply.

✨ Save this for later if you’re breastfeeding, and share it with another mama who might need it! 💕

🦷 5 Unexpected Signs Your Baby Is Teething 👶✨

Teething isn’t always just drooling and chewing! Here are 5 signs that might surprise you:

• 1. Biting 🦷
Sore gums make babies want to bite anything they can find, including toys, fingers, and even while nursing. It helps relieve pressure on their gums.

• 2. Refusing to Eat 🥄
Swallowing or sucking can make tender gums feel more uncomfortable, so your baby may eat less for a few days.

• 3. Night Waking 🌙
Teething discomfort can become more noticeable at night when there are fewer distractions, leading to extra wake ups.

• 4. Ear Pulling & Cheek Rubbing 👂
The nerves in the gums can cause pain that radiates to the ears and cheeks, making babies tug at their ears or rub their face.

• 5. Teething Rash ❤️
Excess drool can irritate the skin around the mouth, chin, neck, and chest, causing a mild rash. Keeping the area dry can help.

💬 Every baby is different! Some sail through teething, while others show several of these signs. If your baby has a high fever, persistent diarrhea, or seems unusually ill, it’s a good idea to contact their pediatrician.

Bottle refusal can be so stressful, especially when it feels like you’ve tried everything. 🤍

My 6-month-old suddenly refused every bottle we offered, so at his pediatrician’s recommendation, we tried the Dr. Brown’s Baby’s First Straw Cup.

To my surprise, he loved it!

If your 6+ month old is refusing bottles, this might be worth trying. Every baby is different, but I hope this helps another mama who’s in the same boat. 🫶

Have you dealt with bottle refusal? What ended up working for your baby?
