Leaving my country behind has never felt easy. On the contrary, it has been a constant struggle to keep myself afloat.

I found a roll of film in my suitcase and, luckily, I discovered so many photos I had taken before coming to Berlin. My favorite sunset in the little passageway behind my house. Family lunches to celebrate a birthday. Friends, loves, my favorite metro station, more loves, my mother, my father.

How I wish I could be in my bedroom, organizing my books or waking up with the sun on my face. How I wish I could walk down the stairs of my house and see my grandmother having her little cup of tea while watching the morning show.

How I wish I could come home from work and find my dad playing Xbox with my cousins. Everything felt so normal.

Little memories from a forgotten roll of film beautiful and melancholic.

I miss my country every single day. I miss the traditions I grew up with, the weather, the beautiful sunsets in Santiago, the little plazas, my wonderful family, and my dad and my grandma, who never stopped believing in me. 🥹
